BACKGROUND INFORMATION
THE NIGERIAN NATIONAL PETROLEUM CORPORATION
A means through which the federal government of Nigeria regulates and participates in the

countrys petroleum industry.

A merger of NNOC and FMMS established on April 1, 1977.
Conducts petroleum exploration, production, refining, marketing and distribution through its

collaboration with multinational companies.

Its reorganization in 1988 into twelve(12) strategic divisions, brought about its subsidiaries

which includes PPMC, IDSL, NPDC, NGC etc.

In 2016, the NNPC was reorganized into five business entities with focus on their businesses.

This reorganization, doesnt necessarily deviate from existing structure.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

PIPELINE AND PRODUCTS MARKETING COMPANY LIMITED (PPMC)

PPMC prerogative falls under the downstream venture of the 1988/2016 divisions charged with the

sourcing and distribution of petroleum products to all the parts of the country, at a uniform price.
Provision of excellent customer services by transporting crude oil to the refineries and moving white
petroleum products to the existing and future markets efficiently.
Safe and low cost Product transportation through Pipelines (total length of about 5120 kilometres)
and Depot networks.
The Suleja depot has an operational axis covering the Northern part of the country connected by
several kilometres of pipelines and depots.
The product pumping and delivery paths through the pipelines associated with Suleja involves one
main axis namely systems 2CX.
The system 2CX distribution chain is as follows:
Enugu-Auchi (Interconnection) Auchi-Suleja-Kaduna, Suleja-Minna

CONCLUSIONS
This Industrial Training, has served as an eye opener for me; to the work environment and

numerous industrial activities.

During the course of my training, the applications of quite a number of courses learnt in

school as far back as my second year sufficed e.g. Transport Phenomenon, Applied
Electricity, Industrial Process Calculations, Experimental Chemistry.
In conclusion, exposure to the work environment and industrial activities has added

knowledge in term of experiences and skills acquisition.
