Importance of Hospice Care establishment


for the Terminal Stage Cancer Patient

The Research Purpose


1. Based on Hospice care importance survei result
which there isnt in hospital care setting in
Indonesia.
2. Remember of importance hospice care programs for
the Terminal Stadium Cancer Patient to getting
Increase Quality of Life although in the end of
life, and caring fee is very low, so the goverment
handling together for poor the teminal stadium
cancer patient.

BACKGROUND

The Cancer Patient Dying Justification


In Indonesia (DepKesRI, 2015)
a. 2008-2012 : 2,7 million cancer patient and 7,6
million die.
b. 2012 : 14,1million cancer patient and 8,2 million die.
c. Estimation to 2016: 20 million and 10, 6 million die.
d. Estimation to 2030: 26 million and 17 million die.
In Fatmawati General Center Hospital, Jakarta
a. 2012-2013 : 73 cancer patien in terminal stage and
25 or 31,7% die.
b. 2013-2014 : 74 cancer patient in terminal stage and
48 or 64,8% die.
c. 2014-2015 : 79 cancer patient in terminal stage and
60 or 72,8% die.
The First Study Result, A Patient Cancer in Fatmawati
Center General Hospital, Jakarta. Most happened
among 2014-2015.

Why be significant increase ???


1. A cancer patient, Late is getting information and
looking for helping of health.
2. Since get medical handling, the patient came in
advance condition and complication.
3. The Advance complication for cancer patient in
clasification stage IV or terminal, so they will range
toward medical treatment in clasification stage X
due to cant value again for cancer cell.

resourch in the hospital or patients
house and can giving support and
caring to end of life. Specially terminal
illness, so the feeling patient can
happy life and more comfort (NHPCO,
2014).

and Principle
Hospice care principle that giving supportive
caring to end of life the Terminal Patient and
focus toward comfortable and Quality of Life.
So, The Patient knows that the live started
birth until die (Connor, 2009).
Hospice care purpose to the comfort feeling
patient and not pain, so they can maximal
live everyday. The use a pain agresive
control methode (Connor, 2009).

What the core problem ?


There isnt hospice care establishment which
is caring in Hospital Indonesia. The hospice
care if good for the terminal stage cancer
patient service, why there isnt establishment
hospice care in Fatmawati Center General
Hospital, jakarta? What the barrier in
Fatmawati Center General Hospital, jakarta
yet establishment the hospice care? And how

cancer, 3 Pharm specialist cancer

The research time:


FGD for medical professionals doing in Diklit Room,
Fatmawati Center General Hospital, Jakarta on 19 July until 28
July 2016 at 13.00 am -17.00 pm.

This research use qualitative methode with


heurmenetic phenomenology approach,
Datas analitic technic use N VIVO 11, and
sampling technic use purposive sampling.

Perceptions about Hospice Care is:
hospice care is an integrated service that is
focused on patients with terminal cancer in
which there are a multidisciplinary team and
family that can provide holistic care, so that
patients will feel calm and peaceful despite
the end of life
Hospice care is important implemented for
terminal cancer patients want to enjoy the
rest of his life without being hurt by the
actions of the medical, so that patients feel
motivated to carry out his life.
