Computer Network

A computer network or data network is a

telecommunications network which allows
computers to exchange data.

Computer Network

In computer networks, networked

computing devices exchange data with
each other along network links (data
connections). The connections between
nodes are established using either
cable media or wireless media.

Internet
The Internet is the global system of
interconnected computer networks
that use the Internet protocol suite
(TCP/IP) to link billions of devices
worldwide.

Internet
It is anetwork of networksthat consists
of millions of private, public, academic,
business, and government networks of
local to global scope, linked by a broad
array of electronic, wireless, and optical
networking technologies.

Bandwidth
Bandwidthis the bit-rate of available or
consumed information capacity expressed
typically in metric multiples of bits per
second.

Network Devices

Modem - a modem (modulator-demodulator)

is a network hardware device that modulates
one or more carrier wave signals to encode
digital information for transmission and
demodulates signals to decode the
transmitted information.

Network Devices

Router - Arouteris a device that forwards

data packets along networks. Arouteris
connected to at least two networks,
commonly two LANs or WANs or a LAN and its
ISP's network.Routersare located at
gateways, the places where two or more
networks connect.

Network Devices
An Ethernet hub, active hub, network
hub, repeater hub, multiport repeater, or
simply hub is a network hardware device for
connecting multiple Ethernet devices together
and making them act as a single network
segment.

Network Device
It has multiple input/output(I/O) ports, in
which asignalintroduced at the input of
anyportappears at the output of every
port except the original incoming.

Network Devices
Patch Panel - a board in a switchboard,
computer, or other device with a number of
electric sockets that can be connected in
various combinations.

NETWORK CABLE
Network Cable - are networking hardware
used to connect one network device to other
network devices or to connect two or more
computers to share printer, scanner etc.

TYPES of CABLES

UTP
Unshielded twisted pair is the most
common kind of copper telephone wiring.
Twisted pair is the ordinary copper wire that
connects home and many business computers
to the telephone company.
