Project Off the Grid

The term, off the grid refers to being

disconnected from a national

transmission grid, mainly for electricity.

Top 10 reasons to disconnect a

home from the electrical grid or
other public utilities
1. Reduction on energy bills
2. Uninterrupted power
3. Suitable for locations where connection to grid is
too expensive or not possible
4. Eco friendly green alternative along traditional
options
5. Adaptable and expandable to changing living
uses
6. Not affected by outside economy
7. Free use of natural resources
8. Reduce dependent on decreasing natural
resources
9. Lowers your carbon footprint

Scope
In Scope
Solar panels, must be up to code and installed
Wind turbine, install in most efficient location
LED Lights, install throughout the home
Ensuring home is insulated
Not in Scope
Fixing existing structure
Landscaping for esthetics
Electrical wiring
Removing existing structure to insulate the home
Installing the heating and cooling system
Material used for the actual construction
