Albay (Central Bikol: Probinsya kan Albay; Filipino:

Lalawigan ng Albay) is a province located in the Bicol
Region in southeastern Luzon of the Philippines. Its
capital is the city of Legazpi, the regional
administrative center of the whole Bicol Region, which
is located in the southern foothill of Mayon Volcano,
the symbol most associated with the province. This
perfectly symmetrical active stratovolcano forms a
magnificent, scenic backdrop to the city of Legazpi and
is visible throughout the municipalities and cities of
Albay including the surrounding provinces.
The province was added to the UNESCO World Network
of Biosphere Reserves in March 2016

How to get there?

Albay is accessible by air, sea, and land
transportation: It is an hour away from Manila by
plane or about 10 hours by bus from Manila and more
than an hour by boat from the Visayas. There are daily
direct flights from Manila, and daily air-conditioned
tourist buses for the Manila-Legazpi route. There are
also daily sea voyages to and from Albay and the
different points in the Visayas and Mindanao. Tourist
destinations can be reached with Legazpi City as the
jump-off point to other tourist attractions in the entire
Bicol region.

The most convenient way is to take Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific Air or Cathay Pacific Airways from HKG Chek Lap KoInternational Airport to Manila - Ninoy Aquino International Airport (approx. 1 hr 40 min).

From Manila

you may take daily connecting flights to Legazpi City, serviced by Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific Air & Zest Air from early in the morning till the evening, with a flight time of about an hour. The Legazpi Airport is is capable of handling aircrafts such as Airbus A320, Boeing 737-400, and Boeing 727 and has the Mayon Volcano as its scenic
backdrop. Various options are available for transportation to Legazpi City and environs, from pedicabs, multicabs, to vans and taxis.

from Cebu is approximately 12 hours and 15 hours from Leyte
