music magazine because it sends out a certain
message to the audience. In a way they can easily
understand as they will associate with specific
things such as the genre, gender and age.

visible in a shop situation, therefore this font would
not be suitable.

This fonts are suitable because they are bold and
large so would be ideal for a masthead. They are easy
to read from a distance which is an important aspect
too.

All these fonts look like they have been handwritten. This
quality is appealing for the editors letter font because it
makes the letter feel more personal as it looks hand
written.

The size of the font is important in a magazine because if the text is too small then the
read would from the print difficult to read. The size of the font used for the masthead is
crucial in trying to convey a certain message to the audience. For example, a rock
magazine may use very large text ,whereas a softer music genre may choose smaller
text to show a quiet tone.

Colours
The reason colours are important for
magazines because some colours
compliment each other and others
contrast. This works to show what
type of mise-en-scene the magazine
creates. Complimentary colours
create a peaceful tone but
contrasting colours are exciting.

The colours are boring and dull, which is unsuitable
for a fun and girly magazine. The font is not a
suitable font for a masthead as it is not clear

The font and colours are unsuitable because they
do not create the correct tone for a car magazine.
The green and the pink contrast too harshly as well
as not the correct colour scheme for a male
audience. The font is not defined enough to be
