engineering consists of two
kinds:
- plant design
- equipment design

What is Plant Design

Plant design consists of the
design of all equipments for
building up a plant.
The equipments in plant design
were
designed
in
detail,
consists
of
their
detailed
dimension,
including
their
arrangement, connections with
other
equipments,
their
position, elevation, supporting

The purpose of construing Plant Design:

To have a process which is

technically
and
economically efficient.

Preliminary Design vs Plant Design

Preliminary Design:
is not meant for construing a plant.
Its only a source of considerations
materials for the management to
decide whether he will construct a
plant or not.
This decision is based on the
economical analyses at Preliminary
Design.

Plant Design:
does not need economical

It consists of the detail of
equipments to construct a
plant.
Its drawing is a detailed
drawing
