buyer ask various samples as below

Proto Samples are

Size Set Samples

Sales Samples

Required by Buyer for bulk booking

Should be true representative of the
final product
Bad / delayed SS = no / less orders

Sales Samples

Number of SS depend upon

requirement of Buyer
Normal Lead time for SS is 50-75
days
SS Processing will start once
Prototype is approved

Sales Samples

Buyer can choose the substitute

fabric for use in case of non
availability of actual.
Buyer will send the separate PO for
SS.

Sales Samples

SS production on factory floor & not

in sampling.
B Grade cannot be sent as SS.
SS cannot be over or under shipped
without prior approval from Buyer.

Ad Samples

Shoot/ad samples are a variety of

visual merchandising samples
requested prior to the shipment of
production.
The samples are used for
merchandising reference, print
advertising, television spots, catalog
and web sites.

Ad Samples

They are also used to check photo

colors and details.
Shoot/ad samples are made from the
final GSS and are preferably made
from bulk fabric and trim.
If bulk fabric and trim are not
available, they should be as close to
production color as possible.

Development Samples

The development submit refers to any

submit made after the initial factory
prototype stage.
DS should be pulled from Sales
sample production.

Development Samples

DS needs to include all

embellishments and tags so that
correct placement can be approved.
DS is to be sent at the same time as
the SS are shipped.

Development Samples

Garment tags should be completely

filled out and attached to every
development sample.
The following are the component of
DS

a) Wash Test report,

b) 1 washed and 2 unwashed samples

Size Set Samples

To confirm that sizes are graded

properly prior to start of production.
After DS is approved, proceed for
SSS.

Size range should include one

Made form original fabric and trims.
Production cannot begin until the SSS
is approved.

Should be made in correct material,
construction and embellishment.

Testing Samples must be units pulled

from the production line for garment
lab testing.
Garment testing is separate from
fabric testing.
Fabric testing should occur before
cutting for bulk production.

Test Samples

Factory must send samples to a

Buyer approved third party lab.
Factory and lab determine the
submission date.
Factory must have garment-testing
results at facility prior to Buyer QA
shipping audit.
