Smart School

Malaysian Smart School?


It is a learning institution that has been systemically
reinvented in terms of teaching-learning practices and school
management in order to prepare children for the Information
Age.
It was launched in July 1997 by the prime minister as one of
the Multimedia Super Corridors Flagship Applications.
AIM: To capitalise on leading-edge technologies and the rapid
deployment of the MSCs infrastructure to jumpstart
deployment of enabling technology to schools.

Teaching & Learning Component in


Smart School
According to Smart School Blueprint 9 July 1997, Malaysia Smart
School teaching-learning materials consists of four components

Smart School

viewed as a

constituencies
will dictate
technical
requirements and
technology
solutions.

POLICIES:
To ensure the
successful
implantations of
Smart Schools,

regulations, as well
as new policies and
regulations will be
formulated.

Discussion
According to Siavash Omidinia in Smart School System Issues And
Challenges (Primary Finding Of Interview), teachers should have
knowledge about how to implement and manage ICT class in order to
achieve of education goals. The software of the class is provided by
the government, also the teachers can use developing one if they
distinguish it needs on teaching and learning.
Also, according to Siavash Omidinia, the existence problems with IT
classes are financial supports, experienced and skilled teachers, and
providing equipments based on needs and wants of Smart Schools.
The ministry of education of Malaysia should find alternatives
solutions for the Smart School problem by considering of changing
technologies and new learning methods.

Conclusion
The Smart School policy has been planned and manage to
prepare Malaysian students to become knowledgeable and
skilled workers during the Information Ages. This is
corresponding with the countrys key goal of 2020 vision.
The implementing of Smart School should be monitoring
always and in the future. This is because the evaluation
terms of students-teachers should have a positive results
as time goes by. The opportunities given by the Malaysian
government by establish Smart School will help student and
teachers itself to enhance and promote creative and
critical thinking skill for the future benefits of our country.
