Internet Explorer
Select Oracle
Enter your User Name and
Password
Click Connect

Setting The Initial Password


Your initial password will already be expired
You will be prompted to change it
Change it to a new password
Minimum 5 characters

The logon password is not case sensitive

Responsibilities
A Responsibility is a level of
authority in Oracle
Properties of a Responsibility
Access a particular application
Restricts the functions the user can
perform in a window
Determines the list of reports to be
run
Each user has at least one
responsibility
Several users can have the same
responsibility
Select a responsibility

Switching Responsibilities
Within same module to different Sets Of Books
Within same module to different functions/access levels
To Other Modules
Within each module, a responsibility restricts access to a
single Set Of Books according to your defined user
responsibility (e.g. Administrator, Inquiry etc.)

Top Ten List


The Top Ten List provides easy
access to frequently used
functions
Double-click plus and negative
signs to expand and contract
navigation window
Select an item
Click Add
The item will be added to the Top
Ten
To access items on the Top Ten
List, double-click on the item or
enter the item number
To remove items from Top Ten List,
highlight the item and click remove

Clear Field Clears data from the current field
Duplicate Field Above Copies data from the same field in the
row above
List of Values... Displays the list of values window for the
current field
Edit Field Displays the Editor window for the current field
New Record Inserts a new record
Delete Record Deletes current record from the database
Clear Record Clears current record from the form
Duplicate Record Above Copies data from all fields of the row
above
Attachments... Displays the Attachments window
Clear Block Clears all data from the current block
Clear Form Clears all data from the current form

Find Displays the Find window of current form to
enter search criteria
Find All Retrieve all records (blind query)
Enter Invoke Enter Query mode for current form to
use Query-By-Example
Run Executes the Query-By-Example
Cancel Cancels Enter Query Mode of the form
Show Last Criteria Repeat same criteria used in last
Query-By-Example
Count Matching Records Find out how many records
will be returned using the Query-By-Example criteria
Get More Records Fetch the next set of records in the
current Query-By-Example

Unlike the other menus, the Special menu is form-specific. That is, its
options are dynamically set based on the current form.

Window Help Displays on-line help for the current window
Oracle Applications Library Displays a listing of all of the online help files available

equivalents of special functions and menu options
Display Database Error... Displays details about the last
database error
Tools Brings up the Tools submenu used for debugging
View My Requests Monitor the status of your submitted
Concurrent Requests
About This Record... Display information about the current
record
About Oracle Applications... Display information about the
current window and application

The Toolbar
Functions exactly as the pull-down menu items
Contains a section where system messages are
displayed
Permits buttons to be enabled/disabled depending on
context of current form
For example, in a Display only form:
All data manipulation buttons (Insert Record/Delete
Record) will be disabled

Quick Keys
Quick Keys can be used to execute commands, instead of
using a mouse
Alt + Underlined Character executes a command in forms
where there are buttons
Examples:
Alt+l would be the same as pressing Hold button
Alt+P would be the same as pressing Payments button

Enter all dates in Oracle in the format
DD-MMM-YYYY (19-JUL-2000) or
DD-MMM-YY (19-JUL-00)
To enter a date using the calendar window in a date field
Choose Edit
List of Values or
Click on the List of Values Application Toolbar button

To specify query criteria

Use wildcard characters and/or query operators as necessary

To run a list of Reports or Processes

Press the List of Values button, or


Type in a few letters of the Request Name, and
Hit TAB

Narrow the search by
entering Find criteria
The Reports List
of Values will
display all reports
or processes the
user has authority
to run (based on
Responsibility)

Parameters Window
After a report or process is selected, a window will appear
with the parameters that can be entered to generate the
request

Editing Parameters
Parameter choices can be edited anytime before the process is
submitted
To make changes, place the cursor
anywhere in the Parameters field to
access the Parameters window again

Monitoring a Request
The user can monitor the request by
Viewing the Requests screen that appears automatically after
the request is submitted or
Accessing the window by

View My Requests from the menu

The request status can also be monitored in this form


After the request completes, the user can also
View the request output and log files
Reprint the report
Submit a new request

print as user sees it
