NATIONAL RIFFLE

ASSOCIATION

MISSION OF THE NRA

To protect and defend the Constitution of the United States,
especially with reference to the inalienable right of the
individual American citizen guaranteed by such Constitution
to acquire, possess, collect, exhibit, transport, carry, transfer
ownership of, and enjoy the right to use arms

HISTORY OF THE NRA

In 1871 the National Rifle Association was organized as a way to educate the United
States Militia in marksmanship.

In 1903, they reached out to youth programs educating them in the safety of handling
and operating firearms and how to enjoy the sport. Some of the organizations affiliated
with the NRA are the 4-H Group, The Boy Scouts of America, The American Legion,
Royal Rangers, National High School Rodeo Association and others.

In 1949 they began working with the Hunting community to educate in firearm safety
while hunting.

In 1960 they started working with Law Enforcement to help them with the same
principles and also introduce marksmanship.

OPPONENTS
January 2016 31% of Americans want stricter Gun Laws
Hilary Clinton and New York Mayor, Michael Bloomberg

are:
Audubon Society
San Diego Zoo
Peregrine Fund
Kellogg's

Opponents have tried :

Stopping laws > people that currently own guns, could loan them

Limiting the amount of rounds it holds > Partisanship in the state house
Further background checks > has been introduced
Gun registration
NRA has called for qualified armed security after school shootings
NRAs mission is to train and educate the pubic about guns safety

WHO DO YOU THINK THE BIGGEST

DONOR IS FOR THE NRA??
From the information I've gathered the top donor in the last
decade was a computer programmer with $50,050.

Another thing is that most of the donors donated more than

the former CEO with $12,000 during the same period.

Also the NRA doubled there funding/donations from 2004 to

2014 from 11M to 22M

WHO DOES THE NRA SUPPORT IN

POLITICS?
From what I see the NRA support more on the Republicans over Democrats.
The republicans party are for guns and they want to make it easier to get
guns to people.

Democrats want to put more restrictions to gun owning and licensing with
more background checks so criminals and terrorists dont get a hold of a
gun.

The NRA and The Republican Party both want to protect the right to bear
arms.

DEMOGRAPHIC

THE PEOPLE THAT WOULD BE INFLUENCED BY THE NRA WOULD BE THOSE

WHO CARRY FIREARMS WHETHER THEY CARRY THOSE FIREARMS FOR
SPORTING OR SELF-DEFENSE.

AMERICANS HUNT A COMBINED 282 MILLION DAY PER YEAR WHICH MEANS
THAT THERE IS AN AVERAGE OF 21 DAYS PER HUNTER.

ALSO ACCORDING TO THE FBI THERE WERE ABOUT 15.2 MILLION FIREARMS
THAT WERE SOLD IN 2015 ALONE.

NRA ENDORSEMENT
The NRAs policy is to endorse pro-gun incumbants because
of their established record

Ronald Reagan was the first Presidential candidate to receive

endorsement from the NRA.

President Elect Donald Trump was the most recent to be

endorsed by the NRA

CONCLUSION
The National Rifle Associations main mission and goal is to
educate the American people about proper use and safety for
firearms and why the 2nd amendment highlights the purpose
of these tools.
