Digital broker
mobile application
for Addis Ababa city

INTRODUCTION

This project is a mobile based brokering

system for an existing broker service.
Broker is the person who makes a contact
between seller/renter and buyer, and then
post the service information through the
application.
Digital brokering is the process whereby
customers directly buy, rent and sell goods
or services(guards and house servants)
through online.

Statement of problem
Generally, the current system has the following problems:
Consumes time and budget of commodity seekers and
brokers.
Users cant get their need easily.
Every time user needs to connect brokers manually.
Most of the times user should want to wait in queue.
It takes long period of time to satisfy user need.
Miscommunication.
It is difficult to know whether the provided information
is true or not.

Hence, it became imperative to develop a

mobile based brokering system to
eliminate the shortcoming of the manual
system as above listed problem.

Related works and Literature

review
Betoch.net and makina.net are
among related applications providing
house and car service respectively.
They are all web based and require
a working and installation of web
browsers on your system.

The proposed system

Digital broker is a server based

mobile application.
It contains:
server side containing the
database of the services and
customer;
client side containing GUI
(graphical user interface) of
the system.
Enables customer to search,view and
get the service they need if theyre
available on database.

 Customer registeration:new user

will have to be registered to get
services.
Service registration:services
should have to be registered on
centeral database to be accessed by
the user.
User account:each user should
have a login priviledge to access the
system.
Information exchange will take place
using sms or usual phone call
through application.
The need notification will be sent to
the owner.

Significance of the
project

Minimize the time and resource

required to get the service.
Easy Data storage and management.
Reducing the probability of errors.
Potentially increasing data security
and confidentiality.
The app runs on android device so as
its every time everywhere
accessible.

Buyers can communicate with sellers
by making call or message directly
by using application.

Limitation of the project

The main constraints of the systems

are: This project done only for AA city.
The proposed system cannot be
accessed with local language.
The system cant work unless there
is an internet connection.
The system will only run on android
platform.

Objectives
General objective:

The general objective of this project

is to design and implement a digital
brokering system for Addis Ababa
city.
Specific objective:

Getting familiar with development and

installation of mobile application.
Creating a system that can guide either
a home, vehicle, guard or servant
seeker by providing some detail info
including their location.
Find a solution to the existing problem.
Design the architecture for the proposed
system.

aimed to use the agile methology b/c:
Its incremental(multiple releases).
It requires strong cooperation between
developer and client.
Its easy to understand and modify.
It allows for a frequent changes.

We have chosen the object oriented
approach to follow for our proposed

We use OOSAD (Object oriented system

analysis and development) during the whole
project life cycle. Because,
increases consistency among analyzer,
designer implementation and testing.

Maintainablity, Faster Development and
increased Quality.

The two testing procedures that were

aimed to use are:

To test the individual functional

component of our system before testing
the whole system once.

System Testing

For verifying as the whole system is

functioning in integrated manner with
respect to the goal of our system.

The two main tools that are used to

develop the proposed system are:

Devices like printer,photo copy
machine and etc..
