INTRODUCTION
Kuantum Paper Limited is Located at Saila Khurd, Distt.
Hoshiarpur. Kuantum Paper Ltd. is a well planned by using
agro waste for producing out paper, the Industry avoid the
burning of straw fields and thereby prevent air pollution.
This plant is classified in to many parts like Boilers,
Turbines, Pulp Mill, Paper Machines, Mechanical Workshop,
D M plant etc.

In Kuantam Papers Limited raw material for preparing

paper sheets are first stored & then send for further
processing. The raw material may be wood chips, bamboo,
eucalyptus, popular, baggage, wheat straw, sarkanda, etc.

Chip Washing Section

BSW
After screening the pulp reaches to Brown Stock Washer for
washing. Its function is to remove the black liquor from the
pulp. Then Brown stock washer pulp goes to high density
tower.

Decker Washer
Decker is used for washing to make the pulp more bright and
clean.

Chlorine addition
After this, chlorine is added to pulp by static mixture in
chlorine tower.
Then excess of chlorine is removed from pulp with chlorine
washer.

Cutting is done by the Paper Cutting Machine also

known as rewinder.
The main function of the rewinder is to remove all the
wrinkles and give uniform thickness to paper with
proper rewinding.

Finishing House
After finishing of paper is packed and stored in the paper
store from where it is exported to market and customers.

Lathe in Kuantum industry used for facing, turning,
tapering, threading of tools .In this industry there are six

A shaper is a type of machine tool that uses linear relative

motion between the workpiece and a single point cutting
tool to machine a linear toolpath.

Centrifugal Pump
Centrifugal pumps are used to transport liquids/fluids by the
conversion of the rotational kinetic energy to the hydro
dynamics energy of the liquid flow

De-Mineralization Plant
In this plant water is de-mineralize i.e cations ,
anions & co2 etc is removed from water.

BOILER
A steam generator or boiler is usually a close vessel made of steel.
Its function is transfer the heat produced by the combustion of fuel
(solid, liquid or gaseous) to water, and ultimately to generate steam.
