COVER LETTER

IMPORTANCE OF A COVER LETTER

1. The cover letter allows you to target
the job and the employer in a very
specific way, leaving the resume to
market your skills, qualities and
experience as a part of the bigger picture
2. Many employers and recruiters read the
letter first. Some will not even consider
your resume until they are satisfied by
the content of your letter. So it is a very
important document

TIPS FOR A GOOD COVER LETTER

1. A great cover letter should not just
repeat your resume in a shorter form, but
should tell the employer what it is about
the job that is attractive to you and why
you want to work for that employer
2. It should be written in an engaging
style using keywords applicable to the job
3. It should give an impression that you have
a good idea and knowledge of the
company before going to an interview
4. It should show your enthusiasm to join
the company or business

THE PERFECT
RESUME PHOTO

1. The picture
should be high
quality. At best,
have a picture
taken by a
professional
photographer

2. The picture

should be a
portrait, taken
from the
front. Avoid
exaggerated
poses or hair
dues, as well
as glasses or
jewelry which
hide too much
of your face.

1. A colored

picture may better

reflect your hairand eye color,
athough black and
white pictures
often leave an
artistic impression.

4.

Avoid touch-up. The risk exists

that your picture doesnt look like
you anymore afterwards and also
that it might seem too artificial.

5.

Dont be
afraid to
smile. You
will be
taken
seriously if
you smile
in your
picture.

6. Try to

express your
personality
through the
pictures, but
dont
exaggerate.
.

7. Use
pictures
that have
been
recently
taken.
