TEMPTATION
Second in our list of reasons is that prayer is an important
instrument in our overcoming sin and temptation.
Perhaps no experience in the earthly life of Christ is more
instructive on prayer than Jesus teaching and subsequent
modeling in the twenty-second chapter of Luke.

BIBLE STORIES
The Bible is full of stories, from Genesis clear to
Revelation. Entire books of the Bible are dedicated to
telling a specific story. Some of these are stories of good
triumphing over evil, while others are heartrending
stories that tell of death and destruction. Some stories are
funny; some are poignant; and some just make you shake
your head.
PARABLES
Jesus conveyed some of his most interesting teachings through parables,
although there were many other means of communication in his days,
apparently more direct and conventional. It has been calculated that
about one third of Jesus teachings transmitted in the synoptic gospels
have come to us in the form of parables.
The teaching of Jesus is so much related to parables, that when the word
"parable" is mentioned many associate it immediately with Jesus and the
Gospels.However, the parable (called in Hebrewmashal), is quite a
commun genre in rabbinic wisdom and oriental literature, largely
widespread through all times, milieux and cultures around the world.

ANECDOTES
a short and amusing or interesting story about a real
incident or person.
Ananecdoteis a brief, revealing account of an individual
person or an incident.
Anecdotes may be real or fictional.
PSALMS
a sacred song or hymn, in particular any of those
contained in the biblical Book of Psalms and used in
Christian and Jewish worship.
