INTRODUCTION
KEYWORD:PRODUCTIVITY
The measure ofproductivityisdefinedas a total output per one unit of a total
input. Inconstruction, the output is usually expressed in weight, length, or
volume, and the input resource is usually in cost of labour or man-hours.
MATERIALS
Buildingmaterialis anymaterialwhich is used forconstructionpurposes.
Many naturally occurring substances, such as clay, rocks, sand, wood, steel have
been used to construct buildings.

What is productivity?
Productivity is one of the most important factors affecting
the overall performance of any construction site.
Productivity=cost of output/cost of input
Construction productivity measurements include,
Decreased total cost and duration of production
Improved quality
Controlling performance of a construction site

Productivity measurement at construction site level

enables companies to monitor their own performance
against their actual or site performance.

Material productivity
Raw materials are the major inputs in an organization and form
the bulk which gets converted into output.
Materials are one of the basic inputs which constitute 50-70% of
the total value of the output.
Therefore , to improve the performance of the company material
productivity has to be improved.
