A.) HUMAN NATURE AND

INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCES
1.

2.

3.

4.

Parents and teachers should not expect

the same degree of development in
children since individuals mature at
different rates.
Parents should not try to compare their
children their children with each other
and expect the same level of
performance from all.
Parents should be concerned if a child is
behind
his stage of development.
Parents and teachers should also help

B.) THE LEARNING PROCESS AND THEORIES OF LEARNING

1. People learn in different ways. Teachers should, therefore, use different
strategies in teaching.
2. Parents and teachers should help children develop good study habits, by
supervision.
3. Since learning is habit formation, there should be no exception to following
the rules of good study habits.
4. Drill often on those things that should be automatized or those that will be
needed throughout life.
5. The learning of any fact or information will be easier the more if it is
associated with other things. Recall will also be easier.
6. Frequent review will prevent forgetting.
7. Youth is the time for study. So while one is young, one should make use of
every opportunity to study as much as one can prepare for earning a living.
8. Maturity is the time for production, like earning a living and being creative.

C.) MOTIVATION
1.

2.

3.

4.

5.

Motivation is a strong driving force to behavior,

so people need to be well motivated.
Teachers and parents should motivate
children to behave well.
Teachers should motivate the lessons so that
children will learn them.
Grades, audio-visual aids, rewards and praise
are incentives with positive valence.
Teachers also need to be motivated so that they
will perform their jobs effectively.

D.) PERSONALITY
1.Personality

is made up of inherited and acquired traits and therefore it can be improved.

2.Since imitation and identification are processes in personality development, good models
such as good teachers should be provided for children and youth.
3.Since many personality traits are acquired through habit formation, attention should be
given to the early years of childhood so that only good habits are formed.
4.Children and youth should be taught to distinguish worthwhile traits from those that are
not.
5.Since people differ in more ways than one, it is important
to know how to get along with different personalities.
6.Teachers should accept all children/youth no matter what type of personality they have.
7.Through education, traits of personality can be influenced by the kind of
education they get.
8.The kind of individuals schools turn out may be influenced by the kind of education they
get.
9.Since society is made up of individuals, to change or create a new society depends upon
the
personality of the people composing the group.
10.
The personality pattern is related to the behavior pattern.
