Advert idea

My theme for the advert is food, advertising.

We used Malteasers in the advert to advertise and to
evaluate, show what our advert is about by using different
angles of the camera.
The props we used were a packet of Malteasers and a
camera we done our advert on a sunny day outside on the
field .

Props/ Costumes and

makeup
The props we will be using is the
malteasers and a camera, with a
tripod.
Overall the draft budget would cost
412

Chosen locations
We are doing the advert at school on
the field and we are doing it in
summer so it will be hot and this
makes the video lighting brighter and
better quality to the viewer.

People who are going to be in the
advert are Paris Aylott, Beija Djemal,

Contingency plan
Absence of the crew if there was an absence of
the crew/actors we would either film it without
them or do it on another day.
Weather conditions mean we are unable to film if
the weather conditions was bad we would change
our scene and film it inside.
School is closed unexpectly, then we would film it
at an actors house or at another location.
Equipment is unavailable we or not charged up,
we would try find a solution of what to use or
what way we can get the scene done.
Lesson is cancelled because of exams or teacher
absence we will carry on filming as we wont need
the classrooms.

Production work
Have you worked well as a team today?
We worked very well as a team and we got it done.
Did you achieve all your set out to do today?
Yes we did and the filming went to plan.
Did you film each scene each scene more than once and from different
angles? We filmed most of the clips more than once from different
perspectives.
Was the location correct and did you make sure that there wasnt anything
in the background of the shot that shouldnt be there? Well we filmed it at
the back of the field and near the back of the field is the car park so parts
of the video you can see the fence and some cars.
Did your characters wear the right costumes? We filmed it during a lesson
at school and we were wearing our school uniform.
What message were you trying to convey in the shot? Did this come
across?
We created a message through our advert the message was to share with
others even if their not your best friend and dont take from others.
What do you need to improve on for next session?
Next lesson I need to improve on listing more and getting work done
quicker.

Evaluation
How was the video fulfilled brief you were given at the start of
this unit? Our advert expresses creativity because we used most
of the camera angles, including zoom long shot close ups etc.
How has the following elements within your video contributed to
its success? It has shown creativity and our camera skills
without a teacher helping or supervising.
Did you change any of your shots due to the logistics of filming?
we did when we first videoed it because the camera was shaky
and there was no tripod.
In what way do you think you can improve the filming of your
video? We could improve the background of the video because
there are things like cars that you can see in the background.
What were your own personal strengths and weaknesses
throughout the production phrase of this video? Laughing
throughout the video and then re filming it and taking it
seriously.

Final Evaluation
How has your video met the brief? Our video has met the brief and the
requirements of what we have been told and given to do and include in
our video.
How would you follow your video original idea to match your story
board?
Do it step by step and exactly how we have planned to do it even though
in the end we did change it around.
What improvements pre-production and production? The improvements
we could of made is practicing it a bit more before filming the advert and
then film it a few times until its correct?
Did you work well as a group? Because its our friendship group we got on
really well and didnt argue and did all the work.
What was your individual contribution to the advert? My individual
contribution to the advert was being in front of the camera and did my
acting part.
What feedback have you had from your peers? So far we haven't had
any feedback.
How would you improve your advert if asked to re-do it? I would not
laugh with the other actors/actresses and change the scene.

Questions

What techniques are use to make the product? The techniques used in the
advert are close up, zoom, long shot.
The product is more appealing to the viewer because the advert is funny and this
makes the viewer remember the advert more because it is humours.
Who is the target audience? The target audience could be a child or a adult it
doesnt matter because its funny, good and chocolate is for any age range.
The props used? The props used is the camera, the product , the setting of the
office and using office chairs throughout the advert. Costumes are old fashioned
clothes and bissness appropriate.
What specific techniques of persuasion might be used in this ad? The part where
there in an office and at work and they are having fun singing and dancing in the
chairs this could portray that eating chocolate makes you feel better and
happier.
How are camerawork, lighting, music, editing/ special effects, actors used to tell
the story? They are used to tell the story by perspective and how the camera
follows them and using different shots to show what they are doing.
How do I feel after seeing a commercial? How does it appeal to my emotions
thing that its weird but funny at the same time because the advert is so

different to any other one I have seen.

Other than the product, what else is being sold? What techniques were used?
The chairs that they are sitting in throughout the video

Questions

Where is the camera positioned? The camera is positioned in different

angles like long shot and gradually gets further away from the characters.
Lighting, What time of day is depicted? What clues tell you so? Its like
afternoon I can tell because it bright and they are eating chocolate and I
would think that its not the best thing to have in the Moring and this
wouldnt set a good example for the younger children watching the
advert. Why is lighting important? How does it help to set the mood? I
think that it is important because if the advert was darker I could give off
the impression that it is more romantic if the advert had darker lighting, it
is presented in a bright office and it sets the mood of being happy
because the sun and the brightness of the video gives off the mood.
Music and sound, What types of instruments do you hear? There is a song
playing in the background which is old funny and good at the same time
and gives off a chirpy effect to the audience. Do the lyrics have and
significance? The lyrics are about boogying and this is what the
audience will remember the most because songs get stuck in the mind
this is another technique Cadburys use to grab the audiences attention.
Other than music, what other sounds are heard? (e.g. narrating, crashing,
silence etc..) the only sounds you can hear other than the voice over at
the end saying the slogan is the song.

Questions

Setting the location of the Cadburys advert is an office which seems boring
because its work but the advert makes it fun, and funny throughout the
advert because the characters start dancing in their chairs to the song and
about eating chocolate. Is it artificial or real? I think that the advert is clearly
played out and artificial because its unrealistic to reality none of that would
even happen and they would probably get fired for not doing their jobs and
their work. What is the setting; how do you know; is it realistic? I know that it
is a real place because it shows a structure of the stairs and shows part of
the building.
Post production ,Does the ad have a lot of edits (times the shot changes)?
What impact does this have? Between scenes there are cuts of where they
are then to where they have changed setting throughout they do this with
different characters.
Actors expressions, What non-verbal expressions are used that might reveal
how the actors are feeling, thinking? The expressions they use are happy and
this gives that effect off to the reader.
What happens next, What happens at the end of the commercial? They show
the product and the different flavours of them which is promoting the brand
and shows what the actual advert is about. I think that the producer did this
to show the actual product and to not confuse the audience what the advert
is about.
