Plagiarism
Plagiarism- an act or instance of using
or closely imitating the language and
thoughts of another author without
authorization and the representation of
that author's work as one's own, as by
not crediting the original author.
Plagiarism is the taking of someone
elses hard work as your own.
Understanding Plagiarism
Plagiarism can happen at anytime by
any person.
It can be done in papers.
It is a form of cheating.
It would be like cheating on test.
Understanding plagiarism is important.
Stats on Plagiarism
The Josephson Institute Center for Youth Ethics
surveyed 43,000 high school students in public
and private schools.
59% Admitted to cheating on the test.
Nearly 40% admitted to doing it twice.
24,000 students @ 70 High Schools-64%cheated,
58% plagiarised.
Undergrads and Grads of college also cheat. 43%
of both admit to it.
