with plans to build
concentrating solar power
plants.
Spanish companies as
world leaders in the
emerging field.
 Spanish companies and
research centers are
taking the lead in the
recent revival of
concentrating solar
power.
Huge curved mirrors about
18 feet wide that collect the
suns energy and focus it on
a receiver pipe in the middle.
The heliostats direct the
suns light to a central
receiver at the top of the
tower.
The tower is also
supported by a small
amount of natural gas.
Spanish companies are
working for the production
of
parabolic mirrors and
glass tube to increase
production.
Zarara says electricity
costs are going up and
solar thermal costs are
going down.
