In order to find out what institution would distribute my magazine I

looked at other magazines in the same genre (indie) and what
institutions distribute and publish their magazines
Two of the biggest indie magazines, Q and Mojo, are published by Bauer
Media Group
NME, one of the largest music magazines in the UK, is published under
Time Inc, and are their only forte in music magazine
Who do I choose?

I decided to go with Bauer Media Group, as they have a larger portfolio

of music based media and entertainment that are quite successful, like
Kiss FM, and Absolute radio, and so it seems like I may more success
myself with my magazine if I choose them as my distributor
Also, NMEs publisher/distributor, Time Inc., only have NME under their
belt as a music based piece of media and entertainment, and so it may
be wise to avoid going with Time Inc., as they only have one brand to
show off their successfulness
Who is Bauer?

Bauer Media Group is a European-based media company, headquartered in Hamburg,

Germany that manages a portfolio of more than 600 magazines, over 400 digital
products and 50 radio and TV stations around the world. The portfolio includes print
shops, postal, distribution and marketing services. Bauer Media Group has a workforce
of approximately 11,000 employees in 17 countries.
Bauer Media is a multi-platform media group, with locations across the UK. Following
their purchase of Emap in 2007, The Bauer Media Group acquired a collection of media
brands. This includes heat and Grazia as well as a radio portfolio of national radio
brands such as KISS FM UK and Magic, and regional radio brands across major UK cities.
In 2013, Bauer Media also acquired the Absolute Radio Group from Times of India.
Bauer Media also broadcasts TV music channels including The Box TV, in a joint venture
with Channel 4. In the UK Bauer Media is the sister company of H Bauer Publishing, who
publish titles including Take a Break .
Why Bauer?

Looking at Bauers largest magazine, Q, which is a mostly indie magazine,

you can see that it is published every month. The other magazine Bauer
publish, Mojo, is predominantly a rock magazine. I would like for my
magazine to be published every week, as that would mean there is always
fresh new content for my audience, and my magazine would fit into a
niche market for Bauer, being their only weekly published solely Indie
magazine, and so my magazine would get more attention
