Newtons second law provides an explanation of free falling
objects of various masses with equal accelerations.
Falling object accelerates toward Earth because of the
gravitational force of object and Earth
When acceleration is equal g - free fall
The greater the mass of an object..
The greater is the gravitational force attraction toward the Earth. the smaller its tendency to move i.e., the greater its inertia. Free fall - Vacuum
When air resistance is negligible, acceleration
will be equal. Acceleration depends on force (weight) and inertia. The acceleration is the same. the acceleration due to gravity: 10 m/s2 or 9.8 m/s2 No air resistance object fall at the same time
In free fall acceleration = gravity
There is no air resistance in free fall
Ex. Vacuum Object will fall at the same time even though the objects have different weight EX: Tennis ball and feather
- The elephant technically more heavier than the
feather so, when they fall the elephant will reach the ground first
- In vacuum ( Free fall ) They both will reach the
ground at the same time with acceleration increasing at the same amount which is 10 m/s2
