FACT FINDING TECHNIQUES
Techniques employed to gather data about the

requirements and demands of the project undertaken.

 Interviews
Advantage: Analyst has a free hand and

he can extract almost all the information

from the concerned people

Disadvantage: Very time consuming method.

3. Phrase questions clearly and succinctly.
4. Be a good listener; avoid arguments.
5. Evaluate the outcome of the interview.

and the modifications it has undergone.

Disadvantage: Limitation of records and reports if

they are not up-to-date.

Analyst personally goes to

the site and discovers the functioning of

the system.

Advantage: Analyst can gain first hand knowledge

of activities, operations, & processes of the system.

Disadvantage: Time-consuming technique and less effective

for learning about peoples perceptions, feelings and motivations.

Documentation
Decisions have to be made and set

procedures are to be followed as the

subsequent actions.

Documentation is important so that there are

no mistakes committed during the decision process.
