Logos An important part of a company is to have its own logo. Most logos look odd but always have either a line of symmetry or rotation of symmetry. A line of symmetry is the imaginary line where you could fold the image and have both halves match exactly, and a line of rotational symmetry the figure looks the same even after being rotated. LRG & Ram One example of a logo with line of symmetry is the LRG logo. It has a vertical line of symmetry and the plus sign inside of the line of symmetry has both vertical and horizontal lines of symmetry.
Though it might not seem like it
has a line of symmetry, the Ram logo has one line of symmetry, a vertical line of symmetry. If it were folded in half the image would be exactly the same Koenigsegg Agera
The Koenigsegg shield logo also
has one line of symmetry, vertical line of symmetry. The small diamonds have both vertical and horizontal lines of symmetry. The I at the top of the shield is an example of rotational symmetry because if rotated 180 degrees it would remain the same. Carls Jr. & Acura The star for the Carls Jr. logo has a total of five examples with line symmetry such as the four diagonal including the right and left part of the star folding onto the two bottom pieces and the opposite with the two bottom parts. The star also has a 72 degree of rotational symmetry for each side.
The Acura logo only has a vertical line of symmetry
with no rotational line of symmetry. Pontiac Firebird & Maserati The Pontiac Firebird and the Maserati both only have a vertical line of symmetry with no rotational symmetry Tesla & Black Palace The Tesla Logo has a vertical line of symmetry only with no rotational symmetry.
The Black Palace logo also has a
vertical line of symmetry but also has a rotational symmetry of 120 degrees. Yamaha The Yamaha logo has a vertical line of symmetry and a 120 degree rotation for the figure to look the same. El Salvador Flag The El Salvador has no lines of symmetry or any rotational symmetry. The Belgium Flag The flag has both vertical symmetry and horizontal symmetry but no rotational symmetry. The Sweden Flag This flag only has horizontal line of symmetry. It has no rotational symmetry. Russian Flag The russian flag has no rotational symmetry but has both vertical and horizontal symmetry . The Poland Flag. The flag of poland also has no rotational symmetry and has vertical symmetry and horizontal symmetry. The Flag of Somalia The somalian flag only has a vertical line of symmetry. However the star inside of the flag has rotational symmetry of 72 degrees. The United Arab Emirates Flag This flag only has horizontal symmetry. No rotational symmetry. The flag of Qatar. This flag only has a horizontal line of symmetry and no rotational symmetry. The Micronesian Flag. This flag has both horizontal and vertical symmetry with a 180 degree rotational symmetry. The flag of Palau The flag in the circle may appear centered, it isnt. Therefore there is no rotational but it does have a horizontal line of symmetry.
