The French Revolution

By Aaron Hines & Anthony Robles

The Monarchy
In France a long time ago, there was a
king by the name of Louis the 16th and a
queen by the name of Marie Antoinette.
The king and queen lived very good with a
lot of food and money. The only bad thing
was that the villagers were struggling with
food and money. The villagers were going
crazy without their food. King Louis was
happy with his queen but the villagers
were not.
Conditions in France
The French son became poor due to the
king inheriting a financial crisis. The king
had sent millions of dollars and resources
overseas to help support the American
Revolution. Poverty and malnourishment
devastated the nation as the population in
France increased.
The Estates General
The French people wanted new laws. They
created many rules to follow and tried to
make it for the king only. They made rules
based on what the king wanted. The
villagers did not like this and wanted
freedom and rights for people.
Storming Of The Bastille
The French people soon became furious
with the king so they protested by
storming the Bastille on July 14, 1789.
They outnumbered the soldiers making
them run to big poles and climb high but
had to be careful because the top was
really sharp. The people took twenty-eight
thousand muskets.
Declaration Of The Rights Of Man
The declaration of the rights of man was a
paper that was written by Marquis De
Lafayette. This paper was the future of
France. The document was to give the
villagers rights and to be treated better.
The villagers wanted this document to be
signed immediately.
Women March On Versailles
After the document was made the
villagers wanted to get it approved
immediately. The king did care and he
wanted all the food to himself. In order to
get this document signed the women who
worked in the fish market decided to
march to the king and queens mansion
and proceed to riot. They made a mess in
the mansion and outside too. They made
the king and queen go back to Paris after
the march.
The King And Queen Plead for Help
After Getting back to Paris the French
revolution started and people began
destroying everything. The king and
queen did not know what to do, so they
decided to leave Paris as fast as they
could. They were caught trying to leave so
they wouldnt have to deal with the
country and the problems it had. They
were in trouble for trying to leave and
they had to be punished.
The Guillotine
Back then the guillotine was the best way
of punishment. If a person did something
they would get beheaded. The only
reasonable way to punish Louis the 16th
was to use the guillotine. They beheaded
Louis the 16th and Marie Antoinette was
sad.
Deaths Of The Monarchs
Monarchs were dying because Robespierre
was telling people that the monarchs were
bad. They executed many monarchs and
were making the economy even more
bad.
Reign Of Terror
The darkest era in french was the reign of
terror due to the amount of deaths. The
executioner was the busiest man in france
during this time. Anyone who seemed
suspicious in the slightest was arrested
and out to the guillotine, head
decapitator.
The Rise of Napoleon
After the hardships the government soon
became a republic. Basic human rights for
everyone were established leading to
Napoleon becoming the Emperor in 1799.
