What are the pre-requisites for this ?

 Test Environment

We will be using multiple virtual machines with Windows Server

2016 for the servers and Linux based Operating System as
clients with a connection to software program GNS.

Hyper-V Virtualization Technology

Technology Overview:
This technology was introduced has the response from Microsoft to
the virtualization trend in mid 2008. Since they continued to release
new Hyper-V versions with new Windows Server versions.

This technology can create virtual machines on systems (x86-64)

running Windows, Since Windows 8 this supersedes Windows Virtual
PC as the hardware virtualization component.

Basically this is a function that lets you create and manage a virtual
environment of servers using software based structure and basic
management tools.

How Does It Work ?

Configure & Manage:

 Failover Cluster

Concept:
The group of servers work together to maintain high availability of
applications and services.
A Failover Cluster is when one server, or node in a group fail and
another node or server takes over the workload from the failed
device without any downtime.
One server discovers that another one has fail through the use the
continuous connection between them called Heartbeat.
In this mechanism theres always at least one Active Node and the
rest of the group will be the Passive Nodes.
