RF Return
We are working on an RF return path solution with one of our vendors. We are making progress, but I
cannot commit on a date yet. I do not believe we will have a working solution by the end of this
year.
We will have support for both Scientific Atlanta and Motorola head ends. The ONT will packetize the
messaging and use the upstream data path to route the packets to the head end.
Optitap
Optitap will be supported on the 4100 and 7300 outdoor units. You can
see it here.
We are investigating how to sell this optional feature. The Optitap
adapter might be a separate line item that the user can install
themselves.

ZNID-GPON-2110 lower cost alternative to the outdoor ONT models.
Multi-port models support battery backup with a
standard UPS 7-pin connector.
Optional fiber tray is available for multi-port models.
Future models include integrated residential gateway
features and WiFi.

The 2110 will most likely be used as a media converter dropping off
Ethernet to business customers. We could use the 2110 in a two-box
GPON ONU solution with the XP.
Keep in mind that with current GPON SoC technology you will not see
Gigabit throughput. At most you will have a few 100M. Throughput
results will be distributed after testing is completed in December.

zNID clearly offers operational advantages over typical bridged fiber ONTs
VoIP
Voice log files show every SIP related message to help find issues and resolve problems quickly
Last two tx and rx RTCP messages are saved to help troubleshoot issues even after a call has
been terminated
Real time stats for each line include packets lost, packets received, packet loss rate, interarrival
jitter, round trip delay
IPTV
IGMP logging records which STB is watching which channels
Connections
Statistics and status include VLAN ID, IP address, MAC address, and Rx/Tx packet counts
Diagnostics
Ping, Trace route, voltage and temperature monitoring
Easy installation:
Two piece design - Fiber Tray and Active Electronics Enclosure
Fiber Tray can be deployed before Active Electronics Enclosure
Easy Swap out
Separate access door for end user termination points
Weatherproof enclosure
