Optitap, RF Return Path, Separate Enclosure

RF Return
We are working on an RF return path solution with one of our vendors. We are making progress, but I
cannot commit on a date yet. I do not believe we will have a working solution by the end of this
year.
We will have support for both Scientific Atlanta and Motorola head ends. The ONT will packetize the
messaging and use the upstream data path to route the packets to the head end.

Optitap
Optitap will be supported on the 4100 and 7300 outdoor units. You can
see it here.
We are investigating how to sell this optional feature. The Optitap
adapter might be a separate line item that the user can install
themselves.

Separate Enclosures and Electronics

Some customers buy fiber trays to terminate the fiber and then come
back later with the electronics. We support this today with the zNID
4200 (original zNID ONT). We will support this with the 4100 and
7300 product line, but for trials we will have complete units only.
After the details are worked out on the Operations side of things we
will be able to start shipping the separate pieces.

Single Port 2110

The 2110 will most likely be used as a media converter dropping off
Ethernet to business customers. We could use the 2110 in a two-box
GPON ONU solution with the XP.
Keep in mind that with current GPON SoC technology you will not see
Gigabit throughput. At most you will have a few 100M. Throughput
results will be distributed after testing is completed in December.

zNID 7310 SBU Overview

The zNID 7310 is an outdoor ONT, but can be used as an

indoor SBU ONT by removing the electronics from the
outdoor enclosure.
The T1/E1 interfaces support structured and unstructured
modes. Pseudo-wire Emulation packetizes the T1/E1
circuits for transport over an IP network.

Active Ethernet ONT

The ZNID-ETH-4200 is GAd, but we are currently out of

product. A good customer opportunity took everything from
stock and will take all pieces of the next build. We expect to
have product on hand before end of January.
Comes with 100Mbps SFP
Exact same features as the GPON model

Indoor models
Vendor is chosen and testing has begun
First product will be a single family unit 4FE + 2POTS with
and without WiFi. Management and features will be similar
to our Broadcom modems.
Expect trials this quarter and GA next quarter.
