OPTIMIZATION OF EXISTING

PROCESS OF BACKEND BACKLOG

PLANNING OF MCU

JILS
WW2316
Objective

Optimization & ground level process improvements in the

back end backlog planning

JILS Final project presentation 06/10/16 2

Introduction
Build instruction is the list of lots given to fab/subcons to consume
from the available WIP against each MPN according to backlog.

JILS Final project presentation 06/10/16 3

Need for process optimization
To reduce Non value added activities
To make processes more leaner
To increasing accuracy of the analysis

JILS Final project presentation 06/10/16 4

Macro automation of file preparation for BI
To reduce Non value added activities needs to be done for preparation of file after
generating BI for MCU devices.
To improve the accuracy of file preparation.
To negate the WIP lots consumed through existing build instructions from work-
in-process inventory fed to MP system to generate available lots in the system for
future backlog.
To identify which are the lots given for BI but already been consumed and not
there in the WIP.

VSM tool
Value stream mapping is powerful lean manufacturing technique
used to analyze and improve the flow of processes by identifying
and removing non value added tasks to make process more leaner.
