DSS CASE:

With 3000+ branches across 60 countries, ABN

AMRO bank selected a Data Warehouse (DW) to build a
platform for business decision support in Asia. The focus is on
DSS for CRM, customer revenue analysis, and monitoring
credit risk metrics. The DW will support the business
development of ABN AMROs consumer businesses in Asia.
Their regional HQ in Hong Kong will be able to view the
regions total business as well as the performance of each
individual countrys business, and each country will have a
view of its own data.
ADVANTAGES:

DSS helps the bank to reduce the paper work and

improve the efficiency/effectiveness of the process.

DISADVANTAGES:

Conversely, if the organizations depend on the new

technology too much, and the system has unexpected crisis, all
the data could disappear in a flash.
PERCEIVED BENEFITS:

Decision quality
Improved communication
Cost reduction
Increased productivity
Time savings
Improved customer and employee satisfaction
DIFFICULTIES OF DSS IN BANKS:

In banks.,
which are quite dependent on DSS less control of
decision making and having more chance of error in
case of any modular fault.

As all the employees working in banks are not aware of

how to use DSS so ambiguity may occur while making
decisions if proper training is not provided.

The day to day change in DSS software creates

difficulty for the people in adjusting with the new
interface.
CONCLUSION:
Retail banks in the Middle East and North America,
Europe and Asia Pacific are projected to spend up to $9 billion
on Business intelligence technology according to 2012 latest
industry reports.

Straight2Bank, standard chartereds online business

banking platform helps businesses reduce cost, improve
decision making clarity and drive growth.

Datscha is a DSS solution used by banks in Sweden which

provides information of 350,000 commercial properties .
