mechanisms to fund long-term collaborative projects with partner regions.
Global challenges
Increasing need to engage in active international cooperation to contribute
to tackle global challenges.
Synergies
There is a drive to develop a mulitilateral funding scheme which is creating
synergies between ongoing research and innovation activities and thereby
increasing the impact and the visibility.
Equal partnership

Results of the Hanoi meeting
Focus of a first call
Clear favor of bigger projects (that include funding for staff costs)
Long term Joint Funding Scheme should be geared towards
collaborative research and innovation projects and has to include
SMEs (funding depends on individual arrangements).
A preference is for 3 years projects
Topics for the JFS should be rather broad and have a
multidisciplinary approach (also to include Social Sciences and
Humanities)
