WHAT IS SCURVY
Scurvy is a condition
cause by a lack of
vitamin c in the diet in
the past scurvy was
common among sailors
and other people
deprived of fresh fruit
and a vegetable for long
periods of time.
SYMPTOMS
Symptoms of scurvy are:
A feeling of discomfort
Tiredness
Nausea
Muscle and joint pain
Easy brusing
Swollen and bleeding gums
Loosening of teeth
Wounds healing slowly and poorly
Dry skin and hair
Bleeding into muscle and joint causing pain
LACKING OF NUTRIENT
The only causes of scurvy is a diet that is lacking in an adequate
amount of vitamin c
Another important cause scurvy is stress which increase the
utilization of ascorbic acid
RECOMMENDED DAILY

The recommended daily intake of of vitamin c is 30 mg.
