GYM USERS
ABSTRACT
This Research and Statistical Methods for Business
was done to analyze the factors or the issues why the
gym was losing the profit.
The major findings of the research were-
Competition was high in the gym business.
Members of the gym were not fully satisfied with
facilities of the gym they need improvement in that.
They wanted their gym as fully equipped and the
pleasant physical appearance of the gym.
They wanted some innovations in the gym also.

RECOMMENDATIONS
Some innovations are required in the gym.
Quality of services should be maintained by the
gym.
New equipments should be used by the gym and
the old equipments should be replaced.
Problems of the gym members should be solved.
To overcome from the competition the gym
should launch some schemes to attract more
customers.
INTRODUCTION
This research study is based on the case study of a gym i.e. The Gym Chain.
It is a multinational leisure business whose headquarter is situated in
Australia.
In New Zealand, Singapore and Australia the Gym Chain is losing their profit.

To run the gym is becoming costly in these countries.

The purpose of conducting the research is to analyze what factors are


lacking in the gym; as the profitability is decreasing and to analyze the
behavior of the customers or the members of the gym as what they exactly
want and how they can be satisfied.
A market researcher Sue was hired for conducting research.

The research is conducted for - The Gym Chain as
the CEO of the gym recognized that due to
competition gym is losing the profitability. The
objectives of the research are as follows:
Survive in the competition
Increase in the gym chain profit
Minimize the cost
Analyze the behavior of consumer.

The term Research can be defined as investigating answers for the


question.
Through research new ideas can be generated and it also enhances the
knowledge and information of person who is conducting research. T
he method through which the research is conducted to find answer or
solution of the problem can be elucidating as research methodology.
Research methodology is encompassed of various steps that include-
problem identification, problem hypothesis, data collection, analyzing and
evaluation of the data and conclusion.

Through interpretation of data it was analyzed that the reason behind going to
gym was for weight lose.
They use equipments in the gym and also use weight in the exercise. They are
highly regular in visiting the gym and the probability of missing the gym is very
low.
The members of gym enjoy company of other members. They also exercise other
activities and mostly cardiovascular is done by them and loose calories in between
31 40 calories.
Only an average of 1.73 people among 120 people said that they feel unpleasant
in the gym but they rated 3.26 rating to the physical appearance of the gym

Through the research study it was concluded that members of the gym like to visit
the gym frequently and probably do not like to miss the gym in case if any
condition does not arises to miss the gym.
They like to do exercise in the gym. But it was also concluded that members of the
gym do not like the physical appearance of the gym.
There perception about the gym was average they are not much satisfied with
gym.
It was also concluded that the questionnaire need a review as the options were not
set properly. It required a pretesting of the questionnaire. Through this the errors in
the question paper could be removed and the questionnaire can be created
effective to collect and then analyze the data properly and easily
