INTRODUCTION
Nitrate contamination in ground an drinking water
caused concerns on a global scale. In the last
decade, nitrate contamination has increased both
in ground and surface water at a rapid rate.

Nitrate concentration increase in water would

cause negative effects on human health: Blue
Baby Syndrome and the carcinogenic potential for
nitrosamine.

Due to its high solubility, nitrate is the most likely

cause of the contamination in waters across the
globe.
EQUIPMENTS AND
CHEMICAL REQUIRED
Equipments Chemicals
Spectrophotometer Charcoal
Incubator Nitrate
Hot Air Owen Distilled Water
pH Meter HCl
Soda

Other Materials such as filter paper, gloves, china dish, bottles,

etc.

FUTURE SCOPE
Among other technologies used for water treatment, the
adsorption process is in general low cost, simply designed, as
it identified as an easy applicable technique.

At the present moment, research has grown to modify carbon

level in order to increase the potentiality for its adsorption.

Modification on carbon level may be a path to novel

application of activated carbon in order to remove specific
pollutants.
