AND FURNITURE MUST BE IN GOOD
CONDITION ALWAYS.
THE SHELVES IN THE PRESCHOOL
CLASSES WILL BE NEATLY
ARRANGED AROUND LEARNING
CENTERS, SUCH AS LIBRARY,
MATHS, LANGUAGE, PRACTICAL
LIFE, ARTS AND CRAFT, FINE MOTOR
MANIPULATIVES, COMPUTERS ETC.
CHILDREN SHOULD BE TAUGHT
HOW TO USE THE MATERIALS
ON THE SHELVES. THEY SHOULD
BE ASSIGNED TO SPECIFIC
AREAS ON PARTICULAR DAYS. IN
THIS WAY THEY WILL BE ABLE
TO BENEFIT FROM THESE

CLASS TEACHER WILL CARRY OUT A PLAN
FOR THE CHILDS SPIRITUAL ENRICHMENT

AND SONGS.
THE SCHOOL WILL NOT KEEP IN HER EMPLOY
ANY STAFF WHO WILL NOT BE ABLE TO TAKE
PART IN CORPORATE PRAYERS. STAFF ON
CHAPEL DUTY MUST ENSURE THAT PRAYERS
ARE HELD EVERYDAY AND ON TIME. STAFF
WILL BE ASSIGNED WEEKLY TO CO-ORDINATE
CHILDREN CHAPEL.
THE FIRST WORKING DAY OF EVERY MONTH
SHALL BE THANKSGIVING DAY. THE THIRD DAY
OF THE MONTH, PRAYERS WILL BE HELD FOR
CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS.
ALL STAFF AND STUDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED
TO PRAY DAILY AT NOON I.E. FOR PARENTS,
SCHOOL, SELF, BIRTHDAY CELEBRANTS,
LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL EVENTS E.T.C.
GOALS
CHILDREN LEARN BY DOING. ADULTS MUST ALLOW
THE CHILDREN TO DO CREATIVE ACTIVITES WITH
MINIMUM GUIDANCE. IT IS NOT ABOUT THE
PRODUCT BUT THE PROCESS.
INITIATIVE: CHILDREN SHOULD BE ENCOURAGED TO
THINK THROUGH SITUATIONS AND MAKE CHOICES.
THEY MUST ALSO BE PRAISED WHEN THEY DO
THINGS ON THEIR OWN. EVEN WHEN THEY FAIL,
ADULTS MUST TALK TO THEM KINDLY, IN A WAY THAT

MANAGEMENT
Greater Scholars is overseen by a Board of Directors,
However, the day-to-day management is run by the
Managing Director, Mrs. Comfort Ukpong. She holds
a Bachelors degree in Educational Foundations from
the University of Port-Harcourt, and a Masters
degree in Educational Administration from Houston
Baptist University, Houston Texas. She also holds a
diploma in childcare from the Professional Career
Development Institute, Atlanta, Georgia and several
certificates in early childhood studies. With her
wealth of knowledge and teaching experience in
Nigeria and the United State of America, she seeks
to create a blend, bringing out the very best of both
curricula.
Mrs. Ukpong is assisted by a team of qualified,
dedicated and caring administrators, teachers and
care givers.
PERSONAL REQUIREMENT
AN EMPLOYEE OF THE SCHOOL MUST BE
WILLING TO GO BEYOND MINIMUM JOB
EXPECTATIONS TO CONTRIBUTE ONESELF TO
THE OVERALL GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT OF
THE SCHOOL.
EMPLOYEES MUST BE COOPERATIVE IN SPIRIT
AND DEED WITH THEIR RESPECTIVE
SUPERVISORY PERSONS.
EMPLOYEES MUST BECOME FAMILIAR WITH THE
CONTENT OF THE EMPLOYEES HANDBOOK AND
SUBSCRIBE TO EACH OF ITS DIRECTIVES IN A
CONSTRUCTIVE MANNER.
EMPLOYEES MUST BE WILLING TO CONTINUE TO
IMPROVE BY CONTINUOUSLY DEVELOPING
THEMSELVES IN THEIR RESPECTIVE FIELDS. ALL
EMPLOYEES MUST BE COMPUTER LITERATE.
PROBATION PERIOD
ALL NEW EMPLOYEES ARE
CONSIDERED TO BE ON
PROBATION UNTIL THEY HAVE

THEIR CLASS FILE. PLEASE TAKE
NOTE OF THE CORRECT
PERSONAL DATA OF THE CHILD,

MARRIAGE/PARENTAGE AND
ALLERGIES.
HOLIDAY/WEEKLY DUTY
DURING THE HOLIDAY, STAFF WILL
BE SCHEDULED TO BE ON DUTY.
THEY WILL KEEP THE ENVIRONMENT
CLEAN AND RECEIVE VISITORS. PLS
KEEP THE SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT
NEAT AS PROSPECTIVE PARENTS
OFTEN COME TO CHECK OUT THE
SCHOOL DURING HOLIDAY PERIODS.
CLEANERS WILL CLEAN THE OFFICE
AREA, HALLWAYS, STAIR CASES AND
THE CLASSROOMS OF TEACHERS ON

QUALITY, PRAYERS, ASSEMBLY, PUPIL
RECEPTION AND GENERAL SECURITY.
GUARD DUTY
ALL SECURITY PERSONNEL WILL BE PLACED
ON GUARD DUTY.
SECURITY OFFICERS MUST BE AT THEIR DUTY
POST AT ALL TIMES.
SECURITY OFFICERS MUST BE DRESSED IN
THEIR COMPLETE UNIFORMS AT ALL TIMES I.E.
SHIRT, TROUSERS, CAP, SHOE AND BELT.
OFFICERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE
PURCHASE OF THEIR SHOES AND BELT.
OFFICERS AT THE ENTRANCE GATE MUST
ENSURE THAT EVERY PERSON ENTERING THE
SCHHOL PREMISES IS SANITISED AND
SCREENED WITH THE FEVER SCANNER.
GUARD DUTY
VEHICLES COMING IN AND OUT OF THE PREMISES
MUST BE CHECKED. DRIVERS WILL SIGN IN AND OUT.
VISITORS ON ENTRY INTO THE PREMISES WILL SIGN
IN AND GET TAGS.
STAFF WILL SIGN IN AND OUT OF THE PREMISES AT
ALL TIMES.
PARENTS WHO COME IN TO THE PREMISES MUST
USE THEIR ID CARDS ALL THE TIME.
VISITORS AND PARENTS WHO DONT HAVE THEIR ID
CARDS WILL SIGN IN AND GET TAGS.
OFFICERS AT THE ENTRANCE GATE MUST ENSURE
THAT EVERY PERSON ENTERING THE SCHHOL
PREMISES IS SANITISED AND SCREENED WITH THE
FEVER SCANNER.
GENERAL TRAINING
PRE-RESUMPTION TRAINING WILL HOLD FOR ATLEAST
FIVE DAYS IN FIRST TERM, THREE DAYS IN SECOND TERM
AND TWO DAYS IN THIRD TERM.
ALL STAFF IN CLASS WILL BE PLACED IN A TRAINING
GROUP AND EACH GROUP WILL BE ASSIGNED A
TRAINING TOPIC AND DATE. LEADERS OF THE GROUPS
WILL ENSURE THAT EVERYONE PARTICIPATES ACTIVELY IN
THE RESEARCH AND PRESENTATION OF THE TRAINING.
BUS DRIVERS AND ASSISTANTS, SECURITY OFFICERS,
ADMIN STAFF AND KITCHEN STAFF WILL HAVE TWO
TRAINING SESSIONS ON SAFETY AND SECURITY ON TWO
SATURDAYS EVERY TERM
PUPILS WILL BE TRAINED ON PERSONAL EFFECTIVENESS
AT LEAST ONCE IN A WEEK
TRAINING MODULES FOR PUPILS WILL BE PREPARED OR
APPROVED BY THE TRAINING DEPARTMENT.
FEES
PARENTS INDEBTEDNESS TO THE
SCHOOL IS NOT THE CHILDS FAULT
OR RESPONSIBILITY. PLEASE DO
NOT DISCUSS BILLS WITH OR
AROUND THE CHILDREN. BILLS
SHOULD BE STAPLED, ENVELOPED
AND PLACED IN THE
COMMUNICATION BOOK. IF A CHILD

IN ORDER TO CLOSE EARLY, STAFF ARE ENCOURAGED
TO DESIST FROM TIME WASTING ACTIVITIES SUCH AS
CONGREGATING, SALES, PINGING, CHATTING ON
SOCIAL MEDIA NETWORKS, WATCHING MOVIES, ETC,
DURING SCHOOL HOURS.
STAFF WHO HAVE RESIGNED ARE NOT ALLOWED IN
THE SCHOOL PREMISES EXCEPT WITH THE
PERMISSION OF THE ADMINISTRATOR.
EMPLOYEES ARE NOT ALLOWED TO STAY IN THE
SCHOOL BEYOND 5.00 PM EXCEPT WITH PERMISSION
FROM THE ADMINISTRATOR
ARRIVAL
TEACHERS AND ASSISTANTS ON DUTY,
INCLUDING ALL STAFF HANDLING CHILDREN
WITH SPECIAL NEEDS MUST BE AT THE
ENTRANCE GATE AT 7.30 AM TO RECEIVE THE
CHILDREN. AIDE/ASSISTANTS TO CHILDREN
WITH SPECIAL NEEDS MUST NOT LEAVE THE
GATE UNTIL THEIR CHILDREN ARRIVE.

ON GETTING TO THE CLASS, STAFF SHOULD
CHECK IF ANYTHING ABNORMAL IS FOUND ON
THE CHILD OR IN THE SCHOOL BAG E.G.
MEDICATION, BEER, PHONES E.T.C. PLEASE
REPORT TO THE HEAD OF DEPARTMENT. IF YOU
FIND ANY INJURIES ON A CHILD, PLEASE REPORT
TO THE OFFICE. IF YOU DO NOT, YOU MAY BE
HELD REPONSIBLE FOR THE INJURY WHEN THE
PARENT COMES TO FILE A REPORT.
EMPLOYEES WILL SIGN IN AND OUT OF THE
PREMISES. EMPLOYEES ARE EXPECTED TO COME
TO WORK EVERYDAY ON TIME.
IN CASE OF ABSENTEEISM AS A RESULT OF AN
EMERGENCY, THE IMMEDIATE SUPERVISORY
PERSON AND ADMINISTRATOR MUST BE
INFORMED BEFORE MIDNIGHT OF THE PREVIOUS
DAY.
THE HEAD OF DEPARTMENT/ADMINISTRATOR
WILL ENSURE THAT THERE IS SOMEONE TO
TAKE OVER THE DUTIES OF THE ABSENT
STAFF. THE HEAD OF DEPARTMENT WILL
INFORM THE MANAGING DIRECTOR OF EVERY
ABSENT STAFF.
ALL ABSENTISM/PERMISSION MUST BE
DOCUMENTED. PLEASE, NOTE THAT MULTIPLE
PERMISIONS/ABSENTEESM MAY LEAD TO
DISMISSAL. ALL STAFF MUST INFORM THEIR
SUPERVISORS BEFORE LEAVING THE SCHOOL

NEW STUDENTS MUST BE MADE TO FEEL
WELCOME. MANY OF THEM MAY CRY ON THEIR
FIRST DAYS. THE TEACHER SHOULD ENDEAVOR
TO COMFORT THEM AS LONG AS THEY NEED TO
BE COMFORTED. THE CHILD SHOULD BE TOLD
THE NAME OF THE SCHOOL, KEY STAFF, MATES,
CLASS RULES/ARRANGEMENT AND RESTROOM.
THE TEACHER SHOULD NOT ENCOURAGE
PARENTS TO RUN AWAY WHEN THEY BRING IN
NEW STUDENTS. THE TEACHER SHOULD
PREPARE ACTIVITIES THAT PARENTS AND
CHILDREN COULD DO TOGETHER. THEY MAY
COLOR AND FIX PUZZLES TOGETHER BEFORE
THE PARENT LEAVES. PARENTS SHOULD FEEL AT
HOME IN THE CLASS.
AS PROFESSIONALS, WE DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING
TO HIDE FROM PARENTS. WE ARE ROLE MODELS.
THE WAY WE TALK AND RELATE TO THE CHILDREN
MUST BE AN EXAMPLE FOR PARENTS TO FOLLOW.
WE DO NOT CONDUCT ENTRY EXAMINATION FOR
THE STUDENT BECAUSE WE WILL TAKE THEM
WHETHER THEY PERFORM WELL OR NOT. WE
BELIEVE WE ARE EQUIPPED TO TAKE CARE OF ALL
TYPES OF EDUCATIONAL CHALLENGES.
THE CLASS SHOULD BE NEATLY AND
PROFESSIONALLY SET UP. NO EMPTY COKE
BOTTLES, DIRTY PLATES, ADULT BAGS, SLIPPERS
OR ANYTHING THAT WOULD BE EMBARRASSING.
PARENTS WILL STAY FOR AS LONG AS THEY WANT
WHILE THE TEACHER WILL GO ON WITH THE PLAN
FOR THE DAY. IF THE PARENT NEEDS TO GO AWAY,
THE CHILD SHOULD BE TOLD THAT THE PARENT
HAS TO GO TO WORK.

LATER, HUG, KISS AND THEN
PARENTS MAY GO. IF THE CHILD
CRIES, COMFORT THE CHILD
TENDERLY, GIVE TOYS, OR WATCH TV.
AFTER A WHILE, THE CHILD WILL BE
FINE. PLEASE REPORT TO THE OFFICE
IF THE DISTRESS SITUATION IS
UNUSUALLY PROLONGED. THE SAME
SEQUENCE WILL BE USED FOR ALL
NEW STUDENTS JOINING THE SCHOOL
EVEN AT THE MIDDLE OF THE TERM.
ATTENDANCE
ALL TEACHERS SHOULD MARK THE
ATTENDANCE REGISTER TWICE DAILY ON SIGHT
NOT ON SOUND.
REPORT ALL CHILDREN THAT ARE ABSENT TO
THE OFFICE. THE ADMIN OFFICE MUST KEEP A
RECORD OF ALL ABSENTEES AS WELL AS THE
REASON. THE SECRETARY WILL SEND A TEXT
MESSAGE HOME BEFORE 10AM TO FIND OUT
WHY THE CHILD IS ABSENT. IF THE CHILD HAS
REPORTED ILL, ON THE SECOND DAY, THE
ADMIN SECRETARY WILL CALL TO CHECK ON
THE CHILD. ALL EMPLOYEES ARE EXPECTED TO
BE IN ATTENDANCE AT ALL SCHOOLS SPECIAL
EVENTS. THESE INCLUDES: CHAPEL, TRAINING,
GENERAL AND DEPARTMENTAL MEETINGS.
DEPARTMENTAL MEETINGS
THIS IS HELD EVERY WEEK BY THE
DEPARTMENTAL HEADS FOR MAXIMUM OF 30
MINUTES.
AGENDA WILL INCLUDE REVIEWING THE
CALENDAR, READING OF HANDBOOK,
ACADEMIC/BEHAVIOR REPORTS FOR EACH
CLASS, PARENTAL COMPLAINTS, BRAGS,
REVIEW AND PLAN FOR FUTURE ACTIVITIES,
LOOK AT JOB DESCRIPTION AND PROCEDURES
AND SEE IF THERE IS NEED FOR ADJUSTMENTS.
THE MINUTES WILL BE SENT TO THE DIRECTOR.
AT LEAST 20 SLIDES OF THIS HANDBOOK MUST
BE READ OUT LOUD AT EACH MEETING. STAFF
WILL RESPOND FULL COMPLIANT, PARTIAL
OR NON COMPLIANT.
PICKING UP CHILDREN
IF A STRANGER COMES TO PICK UP A
CHILD, KINDLY CALL THE PARENT
FROM THE OFFICE FOR A PASSWORD.
TAKE A PICTURE OF THE STANGER. THE
CHILD WILL ONLY BE RELEASED AFTER
THE STRANGER IS ABLE TO PROVIDE A
PASSWORD FROM THE PARENT.
AT THE END OF THE DAY, ANY CHILD
STILL LEFT AT SCHOOL SHOULD BE
HANDED OVER TO AFTER SCHOOL
DEPARTMENT.

SCHOOL BUS SERVICES
THE BUS DRIVERS MUST HAVE A VALID DRIVERS
LICENSE AND A WORKING PHONE ON THE BUS. THE
BUS MUST BE CLEAN AT ALL TIMES. THE BUS MUST
BE WASHED DAILY.
THERE MUST BE A FEMALE ASSISTANT TO WATCH THE
CHILDREN AND HELP WITH PUTTING THE CHILDREN
ON AND OFF THE BUS. THE ASSISTANT MUST COME
DOWN AT EACH HOME, KNOCK AND WHEN AN
AUTHORIZED ADULT COMES OUT, THEN THE STAFF
WILL GO BACK TO THE VEHICLE TO BRING OUT THE
CHILD. ALL VEHICLES MUST HAVE A FILE CONTAINING
SCHOOL FLYERS, TRANSPORTATION DIRECTORY,
TRANSPORT UPDATE FORM, PICK UP REGISTER AND
INVENTORIES OF ITEMS SUCH AS JACK, SEE CAUTION,
VEHICLE LICENSES AND DOCUMENTS.
ALL CHILDREN/STUDENTS GOING ON THE BUS
ARE EXPECTED TO BOARD AT THE APPROPRIATE
TIME (I.E. 2 P.M. AND 4 P.M.)
ON A WET/RAINY DAY, ALL CHILDREN/ STUDENTS
WILL BE TAKEN TO THE DINING HALL.
BUS DRIVERS WILL ENSURE THAT ALL VEHICLES
MOVE TOWARDS THE SCHOOLS MAIN ENTRANCE
IN THE ORDER OF ROUTES SO AS TO ENABLE
EASE OF ACCESS
ADULTS WILL LEAD THEIR CHILDREN/STUDENTS
FROM THE DINING HALL THROUGH THE SCHOOLS
MAIN ENTRANCE WITH THE AID OF UMBRELLAS.
BUS ASSISTANTS WOULD RECEIVE ALL
CHILDREN/STUDENTS WHILE ALSO USING
UMBRELLAS.
THE SCHOOL BUS MUST NOT DROP OFF CHILDREN IN AN
ADDRESS NOT INDICATED ON THE DIRECTORY WITHOUT
WRITTEN PERMISSION FROM THE PARENT. IN CASE OF
AN EMERGENCY CHANGE, THE BUS DRIVER SHOULD
DROP OFF A TRANSPORT UPDATE FORM FOR THE
PARENT TO FILL AND SEND BACK TO SCHOOL THE NEXT
DAY. UPDATED FORMS WILL BE PLACED IN THE CHILDS
FILE AT THE OFFICE.
THE SCHOOL BUS IS BRANDED WITH THE LOGO OF THE
SCHOOL, AS SUCH, IT IS AN AMBASSADOR OF THE
SCHOOL. THE DRIVERS MUST CONDUCT THEMSELVES IN
A WAY THAT WILL NOT TARNISH THE IMAGE OF THE
SCHOOL. THEY WILL BE DRESSED NEATLY IN WHITE
SHIRTS AND BLACK TROUSER AND A NECK TIE. DRIVERS
MUST NOT FIGHT, DRIVE ON ONE WAY, PLAY LOUD MUSIC,
VULGAR LYRICS OR USE ABUSIVE WORDS ON THE BUS.
PLEASE, THE DRIVERS MUST NOT DRIVE BEYOND THE
SPEED LIMIT OF 80 KILOMETERS PER HOUR.
REQUEST FOR SCHOOL BUS
SERVICES
IN THE EVENT OF REQUESTS, EMERGENCIES, AND
CHANGES IN BUS ROUTES, ALL COMMUNICATIONS FROM
PARENTS MUST BE COMMUNICATED TO THE OFFICE.
THE SECRETARY WILL IN TURN PRINT A SLIP CONTAINING
THE NECESSARY INFORMATION.
THE SECRETARY WILL IN TURN DISPATCH THE SLIP(S) TO
ALL CONCERNED CLASSES, AS IT AUTOMATICALLY
BECOMES A PRE-REQUISITE FOR APPROVAL OF SUCH
REQUESTS.

BOOK). FORMS WILL BE SENT HOME ON THE 7TH WEEK
AND COMPLETED

BETWEEN7:30 A.M. AND 8:00 A.M.
AFTER DAILY CORPORATE PRAYERS, ADULTS WILL TAKE THEIR
CHILDREN AND STUDENTS TO THE SCHOOL FIELD.
ALL CHILDREN IN NURSERY AND PRE-SCHOOL CLASSES WILL
OCCUPY THE FRONT ROWS, WITH ALL ADULTS FULLY SUPERVISING
THE SESSION
ALL STUDENTS AND ADULTS IN GRADERS DEPARTMENT IN THE
IDEAL SEQUENTIAL ORDER WOULD FOLLOW SUIT AND TAKE UP THE
ARRANGEMENT IN AN ORDERLY MANNER (I.E. Grades 1 -6).
ADULTS ARE EXPECTED TO STAY WITH THEIR CHILDREN/STUDENTS
ALL THROUGH THE SESSION.

ANY OTHER PERSONAL INFORMATION.
IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY,
EMPLOYEES COULD BE CONTACTED BY
FAMILY AND FRIENDS AS MUCH AS
POSSIBLE. LIMIT CONVERSATIONS ON
THE PHONE TILL AFTER SCHOOL.
CHILDREN ARE YOUR TOP PRIORITY.
CELL PHONES MUST BE PUT ON SILENCE
WHILE IN THE CLASS.
SAFETY
EMPLOYEES MUST NOT LEAVE ANY CHILD UNATTENDED.
ATTENDED MEANS THAT YOU ARE FOCUSED ON THE
CHILD WITH ALL YOUR 5 SENSES. EMPLOYEES SHOULD
BE OBSERVANT AND SENSITIVE TO THE NEEDS OF THE
CHILDREN.
IF YOU MUST LEAVE YOUR CLASS, PLEASE ASK
ANOTHER ADULT TO WATCH FOR YOU. IF THERE IS NO
ADULT, KINDLY INFORM THE H.O.D/ADMINISTRATOR.
CHILDREN MUST NOT BE SEEN WALKING AROUND THE
SCHOOL INDEPENDENTLY. CHILDREN WHO HAVE TO GO
TO THE BATHROOM MUST BE ACCOMPIED BY AN ADULT.
EVERY EMPLOYEE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SAFETY OF
CHILDREN, VISITORS AND STAFF AT THE SCHOOL. YOU
ARE URGED TO BE CONSTANTLY ALERT BY PREVENTING,
CORRECTING AND REPORTING ANY SITUATION THAT
MIGHT CAUSE ACCIDENTS OR INJURIES.

PROCEDURE FOR SENDING STUDENT TO THE
OFFICE

ANY BLEEDING WOUND,


INJURY, SWELLING OR
INFLAMMATION, PERSISTENT
STUDENT DISCOMFORT,
RASH, SKIN ERUPTION,
FEVER OR HEADACHE
NOTICED ON A CHILD AT ANY
TIME MUST BE REPORTED TO
THE H.O.D. IMMEDIATELY.
ACCIDENTS
ANY ACCIDENTS OR INJURY TO A CHILD, VISITOR OR
EMPLOYEE MUST BE REPORTED TO THE ADMINISTRATOR
IMMEDIATELY.
IN THE CASE OF CHILDREN, AN ACCIDENT REPORT AND
WRITTEN STATEMENT OF FACT AND EVENT MUST BE
COMPLETED BY EMPLOYEE IN CHARGE OF THE CHILD,
BEFORE THE EMPLOYEE CLOSES FOR THE DAY. THE
ACCIDENT REPORT WILL BE MADE IN TRIPLICATE, ONE IS
SENT TO THE PARENT, ONE TO BE KEPT IN THE CHILDS
FILE IN THE OFFICE AND ONE IN THE ACCIDENT RECORD
BOOK. IN THE CASE OF EMERGENCY, THE
ADMINISTRATOR WILL CALL THE PARENT.
TREATMENT FOR ACCIDENTS CAUSED BY NEGLIGENCE
ON THE PART OF THE STAFF WILL BE BORNE BY THE
STAFF. ALL ACCIDENTS MUST BE REPORTED AT ALL
TIMES. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL ATTRACT A QUERY
VISITORS
GREATER SCHOLARS IS A CLOSED
CAMPUS. THERE ARE TO BE NO
VISITORS EXCEPT THOSE
APPROVED BY THE
ADMINISTRATOR. VISITORS ARE TO
CHECK WITH THE SCHOOL OFFICE
BEFORE VISITING THE CLASS.
FRIENDS OF EMPLOYEES ARE NOT
PERMITTED TO VISIT CLASSES
WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM THE
DIRECTOR.
PHOTOCOPYING
PERSONAL USE OF THE
PHOTOCOPYING MACHINES IS
PROHIBITED. REQUEST FOR
PHOTOCOPYING FOR OFFICIAL
USE MUST BE APPROVED BY THE
HOD AND ADMINISTRATOR.
ELECTRONIC DEVICES, RADIOS
AND CASSETTES, HAND PHONES,
IPODS E.T.C SHOULD NOT BE USED
IN THE CLASSES EXCEPT FOR
INSTRUCTIONAL PURPOSE.

CARE AND USE OF MATERIALS
STAFF WILL MAKE REQUEST FOR
MATERIALS/MAINTENANCE BY FILLING THE
REQUEST SLIPS FROM THE ADMIN DEPT.
HAVE THE REQUEST ENDORSED BY YOUR
H.O.D AND APPROVED BY THE SCHOOL
ADMINISTRATOR. ALL MEMBERS OF STAFF
MUST ENSURE THAT MATERIALS ARE USED
WISELY.
ALL ITEMS ISSUED TO ALL STAFF SHOULD BE
RECORDED. STAFF MUST BE PREPARED TO
RETURN ALL MATERIALS IN THEIR CUSTODY
AT THE END OF EVERY SCHOOL YEAR AND
WHEN LEAVING THE SCHOOL.
PERSONAL PROPERTY
Employees are expected to
take care of their personal
belongings while these are on
school premises. The school
cannot accept responsibility
for loss or damage other than
where such loss or damage is
due to its negligence.
SCHOOL PROPERTY
Employees are expected to take
care of the property of the
School and not to remove or use
for their own purpose any item
no matter how small in value
without prior express written
permission. The cost of
replacing School property
misplaced or destroyed while
under their care, will be borne
FIELD TRIPS
ALL CHILDREN FROM AGE 3 AND ABOVE WILL
BE GIVEN AN OPPORTUNITY TO GO ON FIELD
TRIP AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR.
THE ADMINISTRATOR WILL SELECT THE SITE
OF THE FIELD TRIP, VISIT; TAKE THE PHONE
NUMBER AND ADDRESS AS WELL AS MAKE ALL
OTHER ENQUIRES CONCERNING FEES,
TRAININGS, AND ACTIVITIES.
PARENTS WILL BE INFORMED BEFORE THE
CHILDREN ARE TAKEN ON THE FIELD TRIP.
THERE MUST BE ENOUGH ADULTS TO
SUPERVISE CHILDREN ON THE FIELD TRIP, AT
LEAST AN ADULT FOR 6 TO 10 CHILDREN.
THE VEHICLES TO BE USED FOR THE TRIP MUST BE
INSPECTED BEFORE THE TRIP. THERE MUST BE
ENOUGH FUEL AND THE TYRES MUST BE IN GOOD
CONDITION.
SIBLINGS MUST NOT BE PUT IN THE SAME VEHICLES.
THERE MUST BE A LIST OF ALL THE CHILDREN GOING
ON THE TRIP. THE LIST MUST INDICATE THE
VEHICLES THEY ARE RIDING ON.
THERE WILL BE A ROLL CALL DURING THE FIELD TRIP
AND JUST BEFORE BOARDING THE VEHICLES.
PRAYERS WILL BE SAID BEFORE THE TRIP AND AT
THE END OF THE TRIP.
IF MONEY IS NEEDED FOR THE FIELD TRIP, THE
REQUEST LETTER MUST BE SENT TO PARENTS AT
LEAST ONE WEEK BEFORE THE DATE.
IF THE FIELD TRIP WILL RUN INTO LUNCH TIME,
ARRANGEMENTS SHOULD BE MADE FOR THE
CHILDREN TO EAT OUT. CHILDREN MUST NOT BE
KEPT HUNGRY BECAUSE OF FIELD TRIP.
THE SECRETARY WILL PRINT ALL CLASS
LISTS. ALL BUSES GOING ON THE FIELD
WOULD BE GIVEN THE LIST(S).
A DROP-OFF (PICK-UP) LIST WILL BE
GENERATED ON A BUS-ROUTE BASIS
WITH THE ADMIN. OFFICER.
IN CASE OF ANY EMERGENT STOP-OVER,
THE INTENDED LOCATION MUST BE
SECURITY CONSCIOUS AND SAFE FOR
ALL.
MESSAGES MUST BE SENT IMMEDIATELY
TO THE PARENTS OF ALL
CHILDREN/STUDENTS
A FIRST AID BOX, TISSUE PAPER/BOX,
SANITARY TOWEL, A POTTY, PLASTIC BAGS,
WATER, ETC MUST BE TAKEN ALONG ON ALL
FIELD TRIPS.
THERE MUST BE A WORKING PHONE ON ALL
THE VEHICLES GOING ON THE TRIP. THE
DRIVERS MUST NOT LOSE TRACK OF OTHER
VEHICLES. THEY MUST GO IN A CONVOY.
THERE MUST BE TEACHINGS DURING THE
FIELD TRIP, AND FOLLOW UP ACTIVITIES
AFTER THE FIELD TRIP THEREBY EXTENDING
LEARNING, E.G DRAWINGS, COMPOSITIONS,
JOURNALS, THANK YOU LETTERS E.T.C.
THE HOD AND ADMINISTRATOR MUST GO
OVER THE SECTION OF THE HANDBOOK ON
FIELDTRIP WITH ALL STAFF CONCERNED
EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
ALL ACTIVITIES WILL HOLD ON THURSDAY BETWEEN THE
HOURS OF 12 NOON 3PM.

ALL STAFF WILL BE SCHEDULED TO SUPERVISE THE


VARIOUS ACTIVITIES AS ALL THEM WILL RUN
SIMULTANEOUSLY AT THE VARIOUS DESIGNATED VENUES.

THESE CLUBS ARE RUN BY CONSULTANTS WHO ARE NOT


STAFF OF GREATER SCHOLARS. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY
OF THE EMPLOYEES ON DUTY TO SEE THAT THESE
CONSULTANTS COMPLY WITH THE CULTURE OF GREATER
SCHOLARS. GREAT CARE SHOULD BE TAKEN TO SEE THAT
THE CHILDREN ARE SAFE, AND THE CONSULTANTS GIVE
INDIVIDUAL ATTENTION TO THE NEEDS OF ALL CHILDREN.
ALL STAFF WILL ENSURE THAT CLASSROOMS ARE
CLEANED AND TRASH BINS EMPTIED AT THE END OF THE
DAY.
EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES WILL END AT 11:20AM, WITH LUNCH
EATEN IN CLASSROOMS.
ALL STUDENTS WILL CONVERGE IN THE HALL, WITH THE
EXCEPTION OF STUDENTS WHO DONT PARTICIPATE IN
ANY ACTIVITY.
THE FIRST SET LEAVES AT 12 NOON, WHILE ALL THOSE
LEFT BEHIND WILL CONVERGE IN DESIGNATED CLASSES
(PRESCHOOL 1L AND 2T; GRADES 5L & T).
THERE WILL BE A ROLL CALL IN THE HALL, AS
SUPERVISORS PICK CHILDREN FOR VARIOUS ACTIVITIES.
AT THE END OF EACH ACTIVITY, STUDENTS A9RE
RETURNED TO THE AFOREMENTIONED CLASSES,
WHEREIN THEYLL BE PICKED FOR THE NEXT SET OF
ACTIVITIES.
ON NO OCASSSION SHOULD A CHILD BE LEFT UNATTENED
OR SEEN LOITERING OR MOVING UNSUPERVISED.
THE SUPERVISING STAFF AND
CONSULTANT SHALL COLLECT AND
COMPLETE THE TALENT
DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM(T. D. P.)
FORMS FROM THE ACCOUNTANT ON
WEEKLY BASIS.
FOR PROPER ACCOUNTABILITY, THE
CONSULTANT SHALL COMPLETE AND
RETURN THE T. D. P. FORMS TO THE
ACCOUNTANT WHILE THE
SUPERVISOR SHALL COMPLETE AND
RETURN THEIRS TO THE
ADMINISTRATOR.
PERSONAL ERRANDS
THERE SHALL BE CLEANERS
ASSIGNED ON A WEEKLY BASIS (OR
AS THE MANAGEMENT MAY DEEM
FIT) WHO WOULD UNDERTAKE THE
RUNNING OF ERRANDS GIVEN A
STIPULATED TIME (I.E. MORNING &
AFTERNOON)

WHO SPENT TWO YEARS

LEAVE WITH PAY.
MATERNITY/PATERNITY LEAVE
For Female employees of the
School to qualify to enjoy six (6)
weeks maternity leave with pay,
the last child must be aged two
years and nine months at the
time of delivery of her newest
child. For the male employees
of the School to qualify to enjoy
two (2) days paternity leave
with pay, his last child must be
MATERNITY/PATERNITY LEAVE
CONTD.
The management will act on its
discretion for any other
employee that falls outside this
category.
Notwithstanding the above,
employees of the School under
the Greater Care Team (support
staff) are entitled to two weeks
leave with pay after every six
months of continuous work for
