Space requirements for MU

The MU can be mounted as follows:


On a wall
On a pole
On a 19 inch rack

The distance between MU and RRU-C is limited by the


maximum length of the optical fiber (500 m) connecting
the two units.

Wall-Mounting of MU

There must be a 700

The mounting brackets on


the both side of MU can be
adjusted, but minimum free

MU Concluding Routines
Check the following OK

1. All cables are properly routed and connected

2. All sunshields are properly installed

3. The site is clear of waste materials

4. The Site Installation Documentation is updated

5. The modified Site Installation Documentation has been handed


over the person responsible for the site
6. The RBS is powered up if the surrounding temperature changes
between hot and cold and the RBS installation is not completed
within 48 hours

Space requirements for RRU-N

The RRU-N can be mounted as follows:

On a wall
On a pole

For the pole-mounting of RRU-N, it is recommended that the front


sunshield should ideally always face towards the sun.

Wall-Mounting of RRU-N

RRU-Ns cannot be
mounted on top of
each other.

A space of 1000 mm
is recommended in
front of the RRU-N to
provide adequate
workspace.

Loosen the four captive
screws on the right panel
of RRU-N, and release
the panel.

Hoist the optical fiber


cable up to the RRU-N
and attach it to the pole,
mast or wall.

Remove the cable-


protecting cover on the
optical fiber cable.

Connecting Optical Fiber Cable (2)
Remove the protective caps
on the fibers and the
connectors. Insert the cable
into the specified connectors
of the RRU-N.
Adjust the cable so that a
small part of the cable jacket
is visible inside the RRU-N.

the RRU-Ns. Set the
configuration with or
without the jumper as
shown in the picture

The RRU-N combined


configuration can be set
with RBS SW 06A/1 or
later directly without need
to change the jumper
setting.

tape approximately 50 mm
below the lower edge of
each connector.

Apply two, half-overlapped,


slightly-stretched layers of
electrotape. For each layer,
start 30 mm below the lower
end of the self-fusing tape

RRU-N Concluding Routines

Check the following: OK

1. All cables are properly routed and connected

2. All sunshields are properly installed

3. The site is clear of waste materials

4. The Site Installation Documentation is updated

5. The modified Site Installation Documentation has been handed


over to the person responsible for the site
6. The RBS is powered up if the surrounding temperature changes
between hot and cold and the RBS installation is no completed
