THROMBOSIS

WHAT IS
THROMBOSIS?
Thrombosis is a kind of blood clot inside a
blood vessel, obstructing the flow of blood
through the circulatory system.

Thrombosis may occur in arteries or in

veins.
TYPES OF THROMBOSIS

There are two types of thrombosis:

Venous thrombosis
Arterial thrombosis
Venous thrombosis:

A venous thrombosis is a blood clot that

occurs within the vein.

It leads to congestion of the affected

part of the body.
Arterial thrombosis:

A arterial thrombosis is a blood clot

that occurs within the artery

It affects the blood supply and leads

to damage of the tissue supplied by the
artery
