Fair of san marcos
It is one of the most important and one
of the oldest parties in the country. With
more than 90 hectares of fairgrounds,
the National Fair of San Marcos has
specially adapted areas for each of the
activities that take place in this area.
 Where?
Is an annual event, which takes place In
the city of Aguascalientes.
One of the main attractions is the san
marcos island, called The place of the
family, a green space with an artificial
lake; diverse gastronomic proposals,
playgrounds, commercial areas, etc.
 When?
Is carried out between the months of
April and May.
During all the days of the fair the
theater of the town offers the
presentation of artists of national or
international size, for those who like the
nights of music and dance.
 What clothes do
they wear?
During the course of the fair different activities are
carried out, in which the national charro
championship, known Mexican sport, stands out.
The churros are decorated in a very traditional way in
mexico, with the typical round hat, the white or
colored military shirt, the jacket, the vest, the bow
tie, the belt, the charro cut pants, booties, the chaps,
and spurs.
 What do they eat?
Apart from the typical Aguascalientes specialties,
there is a wide variety of food that is part of the
national menu; all kinds of enchiladas and tacos,
quesadillas, toasts, tamales, gorditas, mole, carnitas
and more. There is a large section of sweets; fruit and
nut confections, coconut candy, flans, fritters,
churros, snows, ice cream, and jellies, as well as
sweets prepared with pumpkin, sesame and
amaranth seeds. To drink, there are waters of lemon
and chia fruit.

drink?
To drink, there are fruit water made of
lemon, chia and Jamaica flower, there is
also the drink based on rice or melon seed
called horchata, as well as atole,
chocolate, and sweet coffee pot with
cinnamon. There is also a wine pavilion
where samples of local winemakers are
offered.

During the fair there are various activities
for the public in which there is the
traditional dance, were women dress in
colorful clothes typical of the region. The
dress is presented in her blouse with a high
collar, the wide sleeves at the upper end
and tight at the bottom, invariably the
waist is wrapped around the waist.

their skills in bullfighting.
