Patient and Methods
Syndesmosis screw usually was removed at
12 weeks.
Inclusion criteria was limited, patient should
be undergo ORIF with screw for stabil
disrubted syndesmosis within one year
Exclusion criteria age <18 years, chronic injury
(> one month), post infection, post operative
hardware failure, surgery with complication

Conclusion
In this retrospective study of 52 unmatched
patients who underwent screw fixation of the
syndesmosis for a Weber B or C fracture of the
ankle, there was no statistical difference between
the clinical outcomes of patients who had the
screw removed and those who retained an intact
screw
they recommended removal of the syndesmosis
screw before the patient returned to full activity
Our data do not support the routine removal of
the intact or broken syndesmosis screw
