What is PESTLE Analysis?

PESTLE analysis, which is sometimes referred as PEST


analysis, is a concept in marketing principles.
Political Factors

These factors determine the extent to which a government


may influence the economy or a certain industry.
For example ,a government may impose a new tax or duty
due to which entire revenue generating structures of
organizations might change.

Bureaucracy
Corruption level
Freedom of the press
Tariffs and Quotas
Trade control
Regulation and deregulation
Tax policy (tax rates and incentives)
Government stability and related changes
Economic Factors

These factors determine an economys performance that


directly impacts a company and have resonating long term
effects.
For example a rise in the inflation rate of any economy would
affect the way companies price their products and services.
Adding to that, it would affect the purchasing power of a
consumer and change demand/supply models for that
economy.
Economic factors include inflation rate, interest rates, foreign
exchange rates, economic growth patterns etc. It also accounts
for the FDI (foreign direct investment) depending on certain
specific industries whore undergoing this analysis.
Social Factors

The social factor focuses on the forces within the society.

demographics
consumer attitudes and opinions
brand, company, technology image
consumer buying patterns
fashion and role models
ethnic/religious factors
advertising and publicity
ethical issues
Technological Factors

In PESTLE analysis, technological factors are variables which


relate to the existence, availability, and development of
technology.

Engine efficiency
Internet connectivity
Wireless charging
Automation

Legal factors are external factors which refer to how the law
affects the way businesses operate and customers behave.
Consumer law
Discrimination law
Copyright law
Health and Safety law
Employment law
Fraud law

Environment factor

Environmental factors that affect business refer to the


physical environment on Earth, including everything
from climate and weather to the availability of
resources.
