SITE
JP Nagar is one of the well developed
Residential area in the city of Bangalore.
It takes half an hour for the visitor to
reach airport and railway station, due to
the ease of accessibilty, the suitability of
the location is markable.

About the Architect: Architecture Paradigm was established in the year 1996 by
Manoj Ladhad, Sandeep J and Vimal Jain and believes that it's most significant
strength is the quality of its people and belief in values. All the members are young
whose instinct for design is tempered by real world experience where they have
been exposed to designing and supervision of a variety of projects. The team has an
average experience of 16 + years in designing and project execution.

ACTIVITIES
There is a wide opening for many activities to take place in MLR convention centre
when compared to other convention centres present in JP Nagar, Bangalore.
The MLR convention centre has hosted many weddings, conference and
conventions with aplomb. Designed as a self contained venue and based on an
award winning design from an architectural competition, the Mlr convention
centre has state of art equipment, contemporary facilities and is preferred venue
for many an event.

HISTORY OF THE SITE

The 7th phase of JP nagar which is at the south end of Bangalore, was not a well
developed area until 2000. There were many vacant dry lands in this area. The
development were due to the initiative taken by the group Brigade Millenium.
They started constructing many buildings in a particular area so that the place
itself is now known as Brigade Millenium.
MLR Convention centre is constructed as a part of the Brigade Millenium group.
At present, a major effect has happened in the JP nagar 7th phase ie Like a Bilbao
effect, the entire area has got developed due to the initiave taken by the Brigade
Millenium group.

SOCIAL CONTEXT
As the 7th Phase of JP nagar was at the south end of the city, the locality was not
even noted and the Buses were rare to this place.

After the construction by Brigade Millenium group, The traffic to the city had a
notable change. A large number of people have moved to this place in search of
jobs and even for residential settlement, due to the high value for the place.

Due to the growth and reputation for the Brigade group in Bangalore, This large
community project became very famous that the Brigade millenium has become
the landmark of this place. And the

The Location of the site is at the rear end of the Brigade millenium. This made
it easy for a better traffic at convention centre while conducting any function. The
46 % Open area in the site provides a better hangout space and is well a
maintained landscaped area.

Providing water-body in front of the

building people will give a fresh and cool
atmosphere and it adds to the aesthetic
of the building. Having indoor and
outdoor party areas to have events as per
timing.

The parking area can hold sufficient number of cars and the car has to take two
circular drives to get into cellar. There is a notable deffect in the planning of
parking area, ie they have provided same entry for visitors and services. All round
drive way is not provided.

MLR Convention centre is a well known convention centre in Bangalore due

to the reason that it incorporates all the facilities a convention centre is
supposed to have. And this became a reason for its fame even after 12 years
of construction.
The Auditorium, pre function areas, banquet hall, Conference rooms, Board
rooms and accomodation facilities were all designed in such a way that, it
can host many functions a day.

THE ARCHITECTURAL GRANDEUR

The architect have bought grandeur
to the building through a contrast of
black granite (horizontal planes) and
white walls, columns and beams
(vertical planes).
The wide and deep stairs and the
cantilevered roof of the main
entrance has got a welcoming nature
the most important aspect of a cc.

The colours orange, red. Maroon, yellow in

the elevation brings an emphasis to the
building. Veiws has been provided in the
interiors and for the exterios also. The sky
light in the building have made the interior
live and interesting.
The open discussion areas and the resting
places have bought an interesting
ambience throughout
the convention centre.

THE ARCHITECTURAL GRANDEUR

There are many staircases in MLR Convention center
that connects each and every levels. There are 3
external staircases that connects the first floor of the
building and the external landscape. These staircases
were made of wood, glass, MS steel rails and it brings in
emphasis and grandeur for that space.
Due to these many stairs the circulation within the
building and to outside becomes more easier and
convenient. In case of fire, there wont be any issue and
the escape would be easier.

THE ARCHITECTURAL GRANDEUR

The convention centre has got a well furnished and acoustically designed interiors.
The lighting in the convention centre has a bought a beautiful and rich ambience for
the interiors. The upholstered seats adds in grandeur and also help to keep the
interiors with acoutsical perfection.
The contemporary interior design adds into the aesthetics of the building. The
ceiling design is interesting and has got curves for acoustic reasons.

CONCLUSION
MLR Convention centre is the one of the best convention centre considering
the facilities provided in that building. It is created with more open spaces
connecting to exterior.
Made attractive with each levels and placing of requirements. Made 2 main
entrances and separate entrance for artists. Common columns connecting to all
structures but different arrangement. People can view the elevation at large
space opening entrance to convention centre. Utilised setbacks with beautiful
landscaping with seating spaces and steps leading to auditorium.
The design is a world class venues for conventions, shows, celebrations and
weddings. Designed to international standard with state of art acoustics,
lighting, connectivity and ergonomic seating.
