 Why is Philippines prone to
typhoons?
Its location. The Philippines is located
in a large Pacific Ocean region where
many of Earth's volcanic eruptions and
earthquakes occur. This is known as the
Ring of Fire (aka Typhoon Belt). There
are approximately 20 typhoons that hit
the Philippines every year.
