Practice Behavior 1.1

Make ethical decisions by applying the standards of the NASW Code of Ethics,
relevant laws and regulations, models for ethical decision-making, ethical
conduct of research, and additional codes of ethics as appropriate to context.
Apply social work ethical principles to guide professional practice.
Social workers have an obligation to conduct themselves ethically and to engage
in ethical decision making. Social workers are knowledgeable about the value
base of the profession, its ethical standards, and relevant laws.
Advocate for the client access to the service of social work.
Working at the Southeastern Family violence center, it is our duty to provide
services such as safety, security and other interventions to aid our client.
We do not discriminate against providing services for offenders. We offer many
rehabilitative services. The goal is to get the person or family to maximum level
of independency.
Practice Behavior 1.2

Use reflection and self-regulation to manage personal values and


maintain professionalism in practice situations
Attends to professional roles and boundaries.
Follow organizations protocol when handling delicate situations to
ensure safety.
Practices personal reflection and self-correction to assure
continual professional development.
When the professional acknowledges the mistakes made; they
begin to learn and grow.
Practice Behavior 1.3

Demonstrates professional demeanor in behavior, appearance and


communication.
A lot of cases that come to family violence center are
uncomfortable for clients to disclose and for the professional to
listen. We should remember to keep out composure because if we
dont we will miss the vital information needed to access the
client effectively. We must be careful to control facial and
gestures because they be offensive to our clients.

. Use technology ethically and appropriately to facilitate practice


outcomes.
Put in correct client information in to database. Please be aware
of surroundings and close database and client folder when other
clients are present.

and behavior.
Unsure about a case, please ask questions to avoid error.
Ask for feedback and take constructive criticism to build and grow
from.

Practice Behavior 2.1

Recognize and manage personal values in a way that allows


professional values to guide practice.
Working at Southeastern Family Violence Center there are many
cases that are many cases that are terrible but as an advocate you
must put your personal beliefs aside to effectively assist the
client. For example, when dealing with offenders you must not
judge them on their current behavior but find assistance to help
them not reoffend.
Never belittle client, they have a first hand account of their
situation so we dont want to act like we know more than we do
because they will stop disclosing information.

Tolerate ambiguity in resolving ethical conflicts.


Unsure about a case, please ask questions to avoid error.

Applies strategies of ethical reasoning to arrive at principle


decisions.
Its okay for ask for guidance when faced with an ethical dilemma.
If ever in a unethical predicament, please consult your NASW Code
of Ethics.

Advance Human Rights and Social, Economic, and Environmental
Justice
Practice Behavior 3.1

Apply understanding of social, economic, and environmental


justice to advocate for human rights at the individual and system
levels.
The Southeastern Family Violence Center Provides assistance with
creating Domestic Violence Protective Orders, No Contact Orders.
When the client goes to court, the court advocate accompanies
the client to support.
They also provide Rapid Rehousing Assistance and Emergency
Rapid Rehousing for those who are homeless and meet the
criteria.
Practice Behavior 3.2

Engage in practices that advance social, economic, and


environmental justice.
Southeastern Family Violence Center offer many classes and many
outreach programs to get clients and or families to maximum level
of security. W.A.V.E Classes, Choices, YFC, Financial Literacy,
Rapid Rehousing One on Ones.

Engage in Practice-informed Research and Research-informed
Practice
Practice Behavior 4.1

Use practice experience and theory to inform scientific inquiry


and research.
I used my journal and other daily practices to research different
methods to benefit the agency and client. Use data to monitor the
populations we serve by looking for trends and area of
improvement.

Apply critical thinking to engage in analysis of quantitative and


qualitative research methods and research findings
Create a spreadsheet to keep track of monies and clients who are
involved in rapid- rehousing, emergency rapid-rehousing, W.A.V.E,
Choices, and Young Families Connect.
This is beneficial because you can determine if this class or
method is useful or does it need to be amended.
Practice Behavior 4.3

Use and translate research evidence to inform and improve


practice, policy, and service delivery.
Become knowledgeable of all agencies policies and procedures to
ensure that all staff is meeting agency guidelines. This is
important so we can give all clients equal quality of care.

Practice Behavior 5.1

Identify social policy at the local, state, and federal level that
impacts well-being, service delivery, and access to social services.
Become familiar with all low-income housing resources located in
county to assist clients.

Practice Behavior 5.2

Assess how social welfare and economic policies impact the


delivery of and access to social services.
Observe how the agency adheres and implement agency policies.
Practice Behavior 5.3

Apply critical thinking to analyze, formulate, and advocate for


policies that advance human rights and social, economic, and
environmental justice.
Attend court frequently, Speaking with landlords in matters
regarding rapid rehousing.

Apply knowledge of human behavior and the social environment,


person-in-environment, and other multidisciplinary theoretical
frameworks to engage with clients and constituencies.
Familiarize self with office personal and clients.
Practice Behavior 6.2

Use empathy, reflection, and interpersonal skills to effectively


engage diverse clients and constituencies.
When doing DVPO/ NCO apply social work values to intake.
Become familiar with staff and different clients background. Use
culture sensitivity when dealing with clients to not offend one
another.

Practice Behavior 7.1

Collect and organize data, and apply critical thinking to interpret


information from clients and constituencies.
Using brochures for research to apply to advocacy project and
other projects.
Practice Behavior 7.2

Apply knowledge of human behavior and the social environment,


person-in-environment, and other multidisciplinary theoretical
frameworks in interventions with clients and constituencies.
Use exiting surveys to analyze data from clients exiting W.A.V.E
classes and shelter. Create a safety plan and danger assessment
with the client.
Practice Behavior 7.3

Develop mutually agreed-on intervention goals and objectives


based on the critical assessment of strengths, needs, and
challenges within clients and constituencies;
Work with Domestic Violence clients who are receiving housing
and clients who are mandated by DSS to attend W.A.V.E

Select appropriate intervention strategies based on the


assessment, research knowledge, and values and preferences of
clients and constituencies.
Help clients create a safety plan.

Attend court and W.A.V.E classes to stay involved in clients case.

frameworks in interventions with clients and constituencies.
Build rapport with clients, by letting them know that this is a safe
place and inform them of their options.

Interact with staff to make the agency function better.

Negotiate, mediate, and advocate with and on behalf of diverse

Converse with staff when needed in behalf of client. Dont be
afraid to advocate for the client.

Create client satisfaction surveys to evaluate effectiveness of
program.

frameworks in the evaluation of outcomes.
Continue to assist with Rapid Rehousing and Emergency Rehousing.
Assist in providing housing and help locate resources to aid them.

Critically analyze, monitor, and evaluate intervention and program


processes and outcomes.
Look at intended outcomes and compare to client satisfaction
surveys.

Apply evaluation findings to improve practice effectiveness at the


micro, mezzo, and macro levels.
Assist executive director with program evaluations to make
program successful.
