You have sized all lines. At this point you normally would also have a plot plan so
you could estimate line lengths and pressure drops. Since we have not talked
about plot plans yet, assume the given equivalent line lengths are satisfactory.
You are now ready to locate and size the control valves and specify the pumps.
C. Determine the size of the control valve in the tower feed line
and select a suitable valve. First carry out a hand calculation
and then verify your answer in PEGASYS.

A. CONTROL SCHEME
Experience has shown that throttling cooling water leads to rapid fouling of the
condenser tubes. So the "hot gas by-pass" control scheme is selected.
