Introduction
There is a novel that I had learnt, which is
Captain Nobody written by Dean Pitchford.The
novel tells us a story about a boy; Newtan
Newman who lacks self-esteem but finally had
found his true colours in his life. It happens
when he faced an incident that surely had
changed his whole life.

The event happened when Newts best friends JJ

and Cecil were helping to find a suitable costume
for Newt for Halloween night. At first, he just
wore uninteresting clothes which are Chris old
clothes. But then, Cecil and JJ used all of their
creativity to find a brand new look for Newt.
Cecil and JJ used all of their creativity to find a brand new look
for Newt. JJ cut Chris sweater and changed it into a
meaningful mask for Newt which is the mask that he will wear
to save people as the story progresses. In my opinion,this
event completely changed his life because after he
dons his Captain Nobody costume,he has become a
more confident person than before.
The event had caused a change in Newts life as the costume
helped him to conquer all of his fears. It was shown when
Newt helped Cecil to get the big bass drum on the top of the
dumpster. At first, he was afraid to climb up the dumpster but
Cecil tried to convince him that Captain Nobody should not be
afraid of anything. He realised that he was wearing the Captain
Nobody costume and out of nowhere, his courage started to burn
inside him. He then fearlessly climbed up the dumpster to get the
big bass drum for his friend, Cecil. In my opinion, the costume
changed his life from a scaredy cat into a fierce lion that had
no fear.
Apart from that, the reason why I believe that the event had
changed Newts life is when he was brave enough run onto
the highway to save Ferocious the Ferret. It was an unexpected
action to be done by a kid who is still in primary school. Once again,
this brave action was done when he was in his Captain Nobody
costume. This costume gave him confidence in himself.
In my opinion, Newts life had changed a lot because of his
costume.He dared to risk his life only to save an animals life.
He took a big risk to make sure that nothing bad happened to
Ferocious the Ferret. So, I think maybe we can also find
something for our own self that can give us the spirit to
overcome our weakness to be a better person in the future
