PHILIPPINE TD TECHNICAL
TRIAL PROTOCOLS
Monsanto Philippines
CY17B Wet Season
TD STRATEGY AND FOCUS

2
Rationale of CY17B Trial Protocols
Yield gap study shows more than 10% yield advantage
(hypothesis) due to usage of pre-emergent herbicides,
more number of land preparation, number and timing
of fertilizer application, and higher plant population
per hectare
Evaluate fertilizer rate, timing of application and plant
population of 6999S, and use of pre-emergent
herbicides with or without detopping in system trials
Evaluate BioAg Rhizomyx and corn commercial hybrids
and seed treatments in technology testing to support
commercial activities
Field trials of stewardship IRM/ WRM trials to support
renewal of traits every five years

System Testing 1 Effect of Fertilizer
timing application and Plant Population
Goal: 4 locations per technician
Objectives
1. To evaluate agronomic system that will bring value (higher yield and income) to the farmer
relative to Farmers Practice (no pre-emergent herbicide)
2. To evaluate the effect of higher fertilizer rate and timing of application on disease tolerance and standability
3. To determine the effect of plant population on plant performance
