OPENING THE QUESTION & ANSWER
SECTION

Moderator : As our talk about Dental & Oral Health

on Children has just been delivered by the speakers,
so now I am going to open the Question &
Answer section.

Moderator : In this section, well just limit the

questions into 3 questions. So, if any of you
wants to ask or deliver some opinions about this
topic, please let us know by raising your hand.
BEGINNING THE QUESTION & ANSWER
SECTION

Moderator :
Have you any questions
on the four points of this
talk that the speakers
have outlined?
:

My name is __________. Id like to pick up one of the last

speakers point, which says that dental treatment on

children is no less important than on adults.

So my question is why baby teeth should be treated

when it will be off and replaced with the permanent one?

RESPONDING & UNDERSTANDING THE
QUESTION

Moderator : So, Mrs. _______ is

asking, if the baby teeth must be
replaced with the permanent ones, why
the children still needs to treat their
teeth so early ?

Moderator : Now I will return back to

the speaker.
*AGREEING*
Speaker 1 : Id go along with you on one
point saying that all of baby teeth must be replaced
by permanent ones.

*ATTACKING*
Speaker 1 : But, wouldnt you agree that baby
teeth are also a guidance for the permanents growth?
*ANSWERING THE WHOLE QUESTIONS*
Speaker 1 : Although they will be replaced by
the permanent one, they still have to be maintained as
well. Baby teeth that are off too early will affect the
permanents growth, because if baby teeth off before the
time, the permanent one isnt ready to grow. It will lose the
guide. That is one reason why some people having teeth
crowding, overlapping or out of the arch jaw. Baby teeth
which are damaged by caries, caused the children a little
trouble in chewing and also they will hard to say words.
And then, the infections that come from dental caries can
damage permanent teeth that are growing under the roots
of baby teeth. So, parents play an important role in helping
the children to keep their teeth.
Speaker 1 : Does it answer your
question?

Questioner 1 : Yes it does. Thank you

Mrs, Violin.
BEGINNING THE SECOND QUESTION

Moderator :
Any other question?
Questioner 2 : Please introduce my name is
_______. Could I just come in at one of the
speakers point about precautions on childrens
dental health?

My questions is what precautions can be

taken to prevent oral and dental diseases on
children?
UNDERSTANDING THE QUESTION

Moderator :
So Mrs. ____ is asking about what kind of
precautions that children should take to keep their
dental health.

Moderator :
Now I let the speaker to answer the question
*ANSWERING THE WHOLE QUESTION*

Speaker 2 : Dental and mouth prevention in children

are important so there is no cause disruption of
function, activity (learn and work), and decreased
productivity that can affect for the quality of life.
Precautions that can be done, such as brushing your
teeth regularly at least twice a day (in the morning
after breakfast and night before bed), do flossing,
use mouthwash, and checked the child's teeth to the
dentist to be handled appropriately.
*DISAGREEING*

Questioner 2 : Im afraid I cant agree with

your answer about some point. I think doing
flossing and using mouthwash are less
effective for children in the prevention of dental and
oral diseases because flossing is usually difficult to be
done by children and mouthwash will have the risk as
swallowed
*ANSWERING DOUBTS & ATTACKS*

Speaker 2 : Yes, i get your point. But that's

the important role of parents to be responsible for
supervising and educating their children about how
to do flossing and use mouthwash in the right way.
BEGINNING THE THIRD QUESTION

Who wants to ask

Moderator :
the last question?
Questioner 3 : Hello, I am ________. As you said before,

the role of parents are so important on the childrens

dental health.

Questioner 3 : So Im just curious, what do you think

about the causes of some parents ignored their childrens

dental health condition?

RESPONDING & UNDERSTANDING THE
QUESTION

Moderator : So, Mrs. _______ is

curious about why some parents
ignored their own childrens dental
health.

Moderator : Now I will return back to

the speaker.
*EXPRESSING OPINIONS*

Speaker 3 : As far as im able to judge, its

because those parents didnt acknowledge whats
the impact of ignoring dental health and they had
not experience of the pain when did not care
toward teeth condition. For the other reason,
level of awareness of parents was low. So,
some pearents think dental treatment on children
isnt necessary.
*DOUBTING & ATTACKING*

Questioner 3 : I can see your point but I

think the other reason of some parents
ignored thir childrens dental health condition not
only they didnt know the impact or their
awareness was low, but also they didnt get the
knowledge about dental health enough.
There is no one tell then dental health.
*ANSWERING DOUBTS & ATTACKS*

Speaker 3 : I take your point but knowledge

about dental health can be obtained from various
media like books, journals, internet, and health
magazine. Its not always someone must tells the
other.
CLOSING THE Q&A SECTION

Moderator : The previous question ends our

discussion here. Thank your for all of the audiences
that coming, and of course much more thanks for the
speakers for delivering this topic really well and
clear.

Moderator : Finally, I hope our talk could improve

our knowledge about dental and oral health on
children.
