Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD): Also known as STIs and very common. It can infect
both men and women and is easily cured with the correct treatment but can cause
serious and permanent complications when untreated. It is passed from person to
person via sexual contact. STDs have been around for thousands of years and education
is vital because those who spread it are usually asymptomatic. There is no such thing is
safe sex. Condoms can lower the risk but sometimes it can fail. The only way to really
protect yourself from STDs is abstinence.
