Introduction

Backgrounds of The Study:


a. Communication is one basic skill for all human,
b. EFL learners need an appropriate Approach,
c. Most of Indonesian teacher still use Teacher-Centered
Classroom Approach,
d. Student-Centered Classroom Approach has positive effect in
learning activities.

Research Questions:
1. How does the Student-Centered Classroom Approach increase
significantly the students communicative speaking ability at
the eleventh grade of SMA Muhammadiyah Cirebon?
2. How are the implementations of the Student-Centered
Classroom Approach to increase the students communicative
speaking ability at eleventh grade of SMA Muhammadiyah
Cirebon?
Introduction

Hypothesis
H0 :Student-Centered Classroom Approach does not increase
significantly the students communicative speaking ability at
eleventh grade of SMA Muhammadiyah Cirebon.
H1 :Student-Centered Classroom Approach increases
significantly the students communicative speaking ability at
eleventh grade of SMA Muhammadiyah Cirebon.

Purpose of the study are to find out:


1. The way of SCCA in increasing significantly the students
communicative speaking ability at eleventh grade of SMA
Muhammadiyah Cirebon.
2. The implementations of SCCA in increasing significantly the
students communicative speaking ability at eleventh grade of
SMA Muhammadiyah Cirebon.
Literary Review

Brown (2000) said SCCA is that focus on or account for


learners' needs, styles, and goals.
Omatseye (2007) said that the discussion teaching
method is a design that provides opportunity for discussion
between teacher and students, and students to students.
Rosenbaum (2005) said in simple terms communication
are information transmitted, a verbal or nonverbal message,
and a process by which information is exchanged between
individuals through a common system of symbols, signs, or
behavior.

RESEARCH FINDINGS

Research Finding from the Test


taccount = 2.4548 and ttable = 1.706

Hypothesis Analysis:
taccount falls out of the area between the acceptance
region because 2.4548 is not -1.706 and 1.706, it means
that Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted.
RESEARCH FINDINGS

Research Finding from the Observation


The teachers in experimental group has
simple activities but the activities have to focus
in students because as the facilitator, the teacher
should think how can make the students active in
learning activities without the teacher. On the
other hand, students did the discussion actively
and it made the class so lively.
CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTION

CONCLUSION
1. SCCA with Discussion Method increases significantly the
communicative ability of the students at the eleventh grade
of SMA Muhammadiyah.
2. The teacher as the facilitator focused in Students activities,
the teacher did the preparing, monitoring and giving follow
up and the students active in their discussing activities.
SUGGESTION
1. Teacher can use Student-Centered Classroom Approach with
discussion method to increase significantly the students
communicative speaking ability,
2. Teacher should be mastering and preparing the material
before they use this approach.
