HARVESTING THE GAINS

Objectives:

Create an opportunity for the participants


to identify the challenges/difficulties,
opportunities , and gains in KC

for the participants/members of the team


to share their personal history and the
experiences and events that have
shaped them as people/ volunteer.
Objectives:

For the participants to draw their


journey (in the form of Tree of Life )
in KALAHI CIDSS and cull out their
best practices
Expected Output:

Generate their best practices, personal


gains , impact of CDD in their respective
community.
Instructions:
1. Count off 1-5 to form a group of 5 with 8 members for each
group.
2. Give them manila paper, color, marker pen, and masking tape.
3. Let the group choose their facilitator, reporter and documenter.
4. Ask everyone to choose particular tree whose qualities they
appreciate and identify with. Mention locally recognizable examples:
a banana tree always renews itself after bearing fruit, a coconut tree
bears in abundance and can be used for food, building material fuel
and household products, a mango tree bears sweet delicious fruit(
trees they want to associate their lives). Give the participants up
to 20 minutes to reflect and draw their pictures
5. After theyre done with their individual illustration/drawing, ask
the group to synthesize their output and the reporter will do

Instructions
1. Give people their supplies, give everyone a big sheet of paper
and colored felt tip pens and crayons. Ask them to find some
floor space to quietly reflect while drawing a tree representing
their experiences, challenges, difficulties , opportunities and gains
in doing CDD

2.Explain the tree metaphor . Ask everyone to choose particular


tree whose qualities they appreciate and identify with. Mention
locally recognizable examples: a banana tree always renews itself
after bearing fruit, a coconut tree bears in abundance and can be
used for food, building material fuel and household products, a
mango tree bears sweet delicous fruit( trees they want to
associate their lives). Give the participants up to 15 minutes to
reflect and draw their pictures

3.Sharing the tree drawings. When everyone has finished drawing,


the facilitator invites them to share their drawings. Teams of five
people or less can share their tree story in the whole group. It
maybe advisable for teams larger than five to divide into smaller
groups of 3-5 people to share their stories
4. Post the drawings. Once everyone has shared their drawings,
put them up on the wall so team members can browse each other's
