Assignments

There is normally one assignment per unit for you to complete.

The assignments are designed by your centre or by ATHE to help you

Assignment content

Your tutor will set you the assignment with a deadline.

The assignment may ask you to imagine that you work for a real or
imaginary company. It will describe a scenario and explain your role
within the scenario.

The assignment will ask you to complete a number of tasks.

You must complete each task in the format required, for example if
Task 1 asks you to produce a presentation you must do that.

Assessing your assignment

When you have formally submitted your assignment, your assessor will
judge whether the work demonstrates achievement of the LOs against
the given standards.

Your centres Internal Verifier will check a sample of learner work to

ensure the assessor is assessing the standard accurately.

ATHE will check that the Internal Verifier has checked the sample
correctly.

If all the checks show that your work meets the standards the centre
will claim your certificate for you.

Avoid malpractice

Do the assignment on your own

Do not copy from other people, books or the internet
Use quotation marks around cited work and a
referencing system acknowledging the sources you have
used
Present work that contains correct, factual information
More help is available in the Learner Handbook

Time Constrained Assessment

As part of the assessment process you may be asked to

complete work in a specified time period.
In these circumstances the tasks may be shorter than
those required for an assignment
The assessment however is the same. Your work will still
be assessed against achievement of the LOs at the
standards stated by the AC.
